AKB48 Obliterates Both Kara & SNSD To Crush The Dreams Of The Hallyu Wave

Girl group AKB48 thoroughly dominated 2011 by setting sales records galore all up in the grill of the Hallyu Wave!

They released five singles this year, all of which sold over a million copies, setting a record in the Japanese music industry. Furthermore, they dominated the top five spots on the year-end singles chart, which gave the girls yet another record.

On the other hand, SNSD and Kara never sold a million copies of a single even once, thus proving that the Kawaii Wave is reigning supreme!

1 – AKB48 – 16,282,000,000 Yen
2 – Arashi – 15,369,000,000 Yen
3 – EXILE – 5,603,000,000 Yen
4 – Kara – 4,926,000,000 Yen
5 – SNSD – 4,049,000,000 Yen

As you can clearly see, even combining the two Hallyu Wave groups barely amounts to half the profits taken in by AKB48, proving the immense popularity of the group, as well as the growing swell of power hidden within the Kawaii Wave!

As many of you know, the Korean media has constantly dismissed AKB48 as a joke of a group and their own CEO has marketed the fact that they are imperfect.

Despite that, the 16,828,000,000 Yen taken in by AKB48 for 2011 set a record for a female group, as did the number of singles sold for “Flying Get” at 1,587,000 copies.

With the media constantly hyping the Hallyu Wave to conquer Japan by dominating the charts, and in the face of the Korean media dismissing them as just a bunch of worthless faces, AKB48 faced up to the adversity and pulled up their skirts to create a gigantic steaming fecal plate for the top two Hallyu Wave groups, covered their mouths in modesty as they chuckled to themselves, and marched away with their chins held high after giving their rivals something to remember them by.

Thanks to this wonderful piece of journalism from OSEN for bringing to the forefront how objective articles without bias are supposed to be written.

Much love.

  1. If you think the Korean media is bad, check out this Australian news clip claiming that SNSD made “over 300 million dollars” in just 50 days in Japan:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZ7s9dJ-pI4

Aside from spouting crazy bullshit stats, they go on to gush about how Korean idols are all geniuses that speak 5+ languages, etc.

  2. Korean fans still think their groups are killing charts in japan though.

  3. Bless this post :)

  4. That original article was painful to read.

It’s not well researched, nor does it explain the situation.

  5. Oh, is it called the Kawaii Wave? Cuz I’ve never heard of it. And I don’t listen to this group because the concept just sounds stupid. The OSEN writer can suck a lemon ^^ A Japanese girl group succeeding in Japan…go figure. KARA and SNSD made it up there along with many other Kpop artists who’ve topped the charts before…has Japan released ANY artist that has recently topped Korea’s charts? PSSSHH~~ THAT’S a laugh.

    • No, but Japan has never tried to debut any of their acts in Korea because there’s no money in it.

There is no Kawaii Wave, I’m just mocking.

  6. Holy shit how many members do they have?
