Why We Should All Cheer For American Idol’s Han Heejun

In case you missed it, a previously unknown Korean named Han Heejun got on the American hype machine yesterday after his performance on the Fox talent show, “American Idol“.

See the picture? That is what being mainstream looks like, not having a dozen fluff articles with no substance over the course of a year.

Anyway, we should all support the guy because:

1) He has already generated more media attention from the American press in a day than Korean companies and Korean government agencies could muster by actively trying to force K-pop on America for years.

2) How hilarious would it be if some random homely looking Korean dude from New York ended up being mainstream in America while spending zero in marketing and publicity, while publicly traded corporations flop one after another in the same market?

3) He’s good.
