For starters, I would be remissed if I didn’t mention how BRIGHT fans are pissed that this music video is basically Nanaka featuring the BRIGHTettes, but since she’s the most attractive one, I can personally live with it.
That said, it’s a bit annoying how Nanaka is literally the only one in the entire goddamn music video who gets a closeup. If you didn’t know this was a group, you honestly would think this was a soloist with backup dancers.

The plot is basically non-existent, which is fine since the concept is basically, “Holy shit, look how attractive Nanaka is!”
However, the way they try to work some meaning into this track with a disturbing pudgy ginger kid CREEPS ME THE FUCK OUT AND WILL HAUNT MY DREAMS.

Tell me that ginger kid isn’t going to grow up to eat the souls of humanity.
Yeesh.
Anyway, back to the Nanaka show, the music video is actually well put together for something seemingly low budget, as it doesn’t give off that feel of shit quality since everything is nice to look at.

While this was a good feature for Nanaka, I can’t say it’s good for the long term prospects of BRIGHT to piss off their hardcore fans and simultaneously fail to draw in new fans, which has generally been the trend Avex has set for their girl groups.
Aside from the lack of diversity, and the blatant imagery of a future world controlled by giant ginger overlords, “Kimi Ga Irukara” is a solid idol concept that’s promising for the future of the group if they revert back to a more inclusive concept next time around.

Nanaka has always been the favorite of BRIGHT between fans, she might as well go solo because she got the looks and voice to do it. Avex is shitty though, they barely support their artists unless they become somewhat famous in a short amount of time and because most of their artists don’t get the support that they deserve, they often get unheard of from the public making them less recognized than the ones(idolgroups) that have no talent. Thanks AVEX.
Always seems like they try using one girl to front their groups and it ends up going miserably.
