SM Entertainment‘s newest batch of robots made their highly anticipated debut on SBS‘s “Inkigayo” recently, performing “History” and “MAMA“.
After watching both of those videos, the only thing it has proven to me is that they are good but not great dancers. I remember SNSD‘s debut dance routines shitting on this, and they were a far less finished product at the time.
Fans, of course, are already in full defense mode, making excuses for their lip-syncing. This despite the fact that far less talented and far less hyped groups have made their debuts with, you know, actual singing. Sorry, but when you have 500 teasers released and the hype machine set to maximum power, part of that equation is raised expectations. It wasn’t the media doing it to them, it was their own doing, so to come out with this performance was a mediocre introduction to the mainstream for me.
Yeah people on akp were very much in defense mode. I said something about the lip synching and man they were all pissed off haha. I was like im not saying they arent talented but they havent proved that they are great singing live.

I was disappointed they didn’t sing live. After all this time and it’s basically just another version of their MV.
I knew they were a mediocre ass group from the 5th out of the 20 million teasers they kept shitting out. SME knew it to themselves too, so they kept ejaculating hyped promotions and teasers in peoples’ mouths to swallow. All the over-the-top cinematic visuals of each teaser convincing people to think they’re this new badass group is going to slay everyone in the market. Well, you didn’t fool me.
“They’re a new group, they need time to grow..” Blah blah, fucking blah. SiSTAR killed on their debut, SHINee, SNSD, B.A.P, I could go on. Like that song ‘History’, it was like a climax with no release to me. And don’t get me started on their Mandarin…

but yeah i’m disappointed that they lip synced. idk they might do what shinee did recently (they lip synced their comeback stage for sherlock and sang live for all the rest of the music show performances). but thats still not a good excuse -_- with all those dumb teasers and the money SM put into them, i had raised expectations for them…

I’m already a huge EXO nerd, but I was pissed about the lipsynching. It’s like, for all I know, this still isn’t even their actual voices. When I said something about this, of course, lol “LOTS OF PEOPLE LIPSYNCH THEY’LL SING LIVE SOON”.
Okay but until they do I have no idea how talented they actually are. consider me really fucking disappointed, cause at least the studio voices are wicked epic.
I waited for months to hear Baekhyun and DO live singing. There came the showcase and they lipsynced and I thought it was forgivable. They were rookies so they may have been nervous and this was probably just for them to get used to the crowd; I’d just wait for the debut. Then there came the debut stage and they were still lipsyncing. Like, wtf… What a disappointment.
Remember last year when one of them claiming themselves to be better than all of their preceding SME boy groups and they were just prototypes for EXO? Yeah, I still remember that and I’m keeping an eye on you, mister. You better live up to what you claimed yourself to be.
They didn’t even include my favorite song in the mini, what’s up with that?

All I keep thinking is that if they were from a small company, I’m not sure they would draw that much popularity based on what they’ve actually done so far.
I just don’t get what’s so special about them. I don’t love the songs, the visuals isnt what I expected, they’re just bleh. I can only name 3 dudes bc they’re the only onesthat are interesting
Sorry, B.A.P did the militant foot stomping song already, and it was a million times better.
They also are one of the very, very, very few groups to have released an EP where all the songs are actually good, not just filler.
SM have clout and money, but these clowns are dumpster status like SJ. Good thing SNSD are carrying these failures.
