Open World Entertainment CEO Jang Seok Woo has been arrested on charges that he sexually harassed and sexually assaulted his own artists and trainees.
The CEO of Open World Entertainment, the agency that houses The Boss, X-5, and Jun Jin, has been revealed to be arrested on alleged charges of sexual harassment.
On April 10th, he was arrested by undercover investigators near Gangnam for allegedly sexually harassing, assaulting, and raping his agency’s artists and trainees. Reports to investigators were filed a month earlier and officials have been working on the case since then, interviewing over 20 victims and testifiers, gathering further evidence on the case.
Investigators finally arrested him the day following his return from Japan and were cleared for a search and seizure warrant on the entire company building. Because investigators speculated that he and his associates would attempt to get rid of the evidence, they stood guard for five hours, interviewing group The Boss and their label mates to confirm all the details.
Police were able to find that the sexual assaults occurred on the company’s fifth floor along with the choreography rehearsal studio, which is located in the basement. Police were able to confiscate all CCTV (Closed Circuit TV) footage present in the building.
An official stated, “We’ve been receiving countless reports that the CEO was using his higher position to regularly sexually harrass and assult his trainees. Over 30 victims are involved in the case.”
Meanwhile, actor Go Joo Won as well as Shin Ji Soo was also housed under Open World Entertainment, and there were also a large number of girl group trainees. Jang is currently denying the charges made against him.
Let’s not jump to conclusions here, but … uh … wow. Talk about your bombshell charges.
The fact that so many are being interviewed and that video may exist probably doesn’t bode well for the CEO.
Either way, this is going to sink the company, as their official site is already down, probably from the insane amount of traffic it’s getting. His Twitter account is still around though, but I imagine it’ll be scrapped as well.
Despite the low profile of the company, this is a significant event, so updates on the status of the case should come eventually.

Yeah, what do you even say to this? It’s a problem that’s crossed my mind a lot, because of the type of research and activism I’ve engaged in in the past, so I’m glad to see – as mentioned – one guy getting caught. That’s assuming of course that he’s guilty.

In a way its shocking for it to actually be brought into the light, at the same time it isn’t. You got all these hot, sexually repressed jail-bait asses around these old men hardly gotten any action as the years go by, I mean, it’s self explanatory.
I mean sadly, it’s not surprising since people should already know this goes on (unfortunately and not just in Korea or Japan) but yeah it’s shocking that some of these cases are finally being cracked down and hopefully those involved in the abuse and/or knowing it was going on but kept hush-hush about it faces the consequences (and not be brushed under the carpet which well.. happens a lot too)

I’m happy that this causes an awareness. This particular person might of not done the accusations, but there are people out here that do. It’s up to the person that been abused want to speak out on it or not.
That’s if they get taken seriously though (and don’t want their careers to be over if they’re just start to be big. )

You can claim you were drunk, you can claim she wanted it, and you can also basically admit to doing it and pay them hush money.
I just remember the late actress who played an antagonist in Boys Before Flower…I really hope that police department never consider this as the last…this is just an iceberg phenomena.
