SNSD’s Hyoyeon under fire for potential plastic fantastic adjustments to her face

Netizens have noticed recently that SNSD‘s Hyoyeon seems to have undergone a facial transformation after seeing her appearance on MBC‘s “Music Core“.

On the April 7 broadcast of MBC “Show! Music Core,” Hyoyeon and CNBLUE member Jung Yonghwa appeared as special MC’s and hosted the program with MC Seohyun. This day, Hyoyeon showed off her bright charms as she succesfully carried out her duties as MC.

She especially received attention for her upgraded mature apperance and charming outfit. Netizens pointed out that the singer’s face looked slightly different from before.

Those who saw the broadcast commented, “Hyoyeon is good at hosting,” “Is it just me, or does her nose look different?” “Hyoyeon’s face keeps on changing,” and “It’s good to become prettier, but please stop now.”

I’d say they’re probably right, but again, it’s not like this is the only time it has happened, so what’s the big deal?

Complete facial reconstruction to make her look like a human being takes fucking time, so it’ll be done gradually over the years until she looks like Michael Jackson or something.

Note: Apparently “successfully” is spelled “sucesfully” and “appearance” is spelled “apperance”. Or something.

  1. She’s still fug.

  2. So far who’s had plastic surgery in SNSD or rumored to of have?

  3. -sigh- One of Frankenstein’s failed experiments tried to be fixed again. Leave it alone! Fuck it up this time, it will go RE (Resident Evil for those who questions) up on everybody and there won’t be a kpop to fuss about.

That picture at the bottom corner though….

  4. Why are you so cruel with Shrek?? If there was a fire in snsd dorm, I would save her first, and bring her with me so she can be my Igor

  5. They’re making such a big deal over something that is supposedly common in Korea. -_-

It seems more like Hyoyeon’s been practicing how to smile in the mirror. She looks drunk in the upper right picture.

such a big deal? really? did you read the comments they made?

    • I don’t know
My brother is a massive SOSHI fan and he said none of them have had surgery before, so i guess there’s a dispute there
Also they’re famous because of their looks…so if they’ve had work done on their image, it damages their reputation and people just like to spread hateful comments

  6. I’m sure it’s a lot easier to heal from plastic surgery when you’re young.

These chicks (even the good-looking ones) will look scary when they get older.

Park Bom is only 28 and she already looks like one of those “this could happen to you” warning posters.

And Soyeon from T-ara is looking more and more like a plastic doll every time I see her. She looked cuter and way more natural a couple of years ago.

  7. the only difference I can spot from past and present Hyoyeon is a nose job.

  8. The problem with Koreans(inkorea) are that they are too open about surgery like it’s natural to grow up and have it. Some of them even go around praising themselves for doing it like the guy from zea, kwanghee. Just because you had surgery it does not mean you’re “better” now Ex. Hyoyeon. Do they not know that you have to be at least decent looking to actually be more beautiful? People have surgery in America too but its more like a taboo. If others find out, you get shitted on and ppl find it repulsive or others just don’t care at all.

I think surgery is ok but they are boundaries you shouldn’t pass, like when a whole country finds it a normal procedure in life. Now they all look the same with the same surgeries done and ppl like me cannot tell the difference between most of them.

    • It becomes normalized when it becomes shit like a gift for graduation.

And yeah, it’s too glorified among the general public.

Personally id rather people were honest and comfortable with it than hiding it and lying about it.

I have no problem with surgery. If a girl looks beautiful, thats fine with me..although a lot of them take it too far and end up looking awful…

      • There’s a difference between being open with it and practically endorsing it as common procedure.

          Is it that bad though?
Is it any different to cosmetic braces for example? Thats kinda what i equate eyelid surgery to..although eyelid surgery is far easier and quicker.

I used to take issue with it but i dont really care any more..its just another symptom of a patriarchal society which sees women as nothing more than something pleasant to look at and put your thingie inside. I find it hard to blame them when i see the levels of competition involved..

        • ^It’s only bad when a whole country think it’s “normal”, you can’t compare braces to eyelid surgery because braces fixes teeth that can be harmful to the insides of peoples mouths, eyelid surgery changes ones outward appearance just for fashion/looking”better”, there’s no harm for having a monolid/doublelid so there’s a difference between them. It’s weird how you can even compare those two like they’re equal.

“Patriarchal Society” I’m not so sure about this. You say it like the men are forcing the girls to take surgery. Honestly from my point of view it’s the women who always want to be better looking than other women. It’s a competition between the girls of who looks better than the other and can get a man. Men don’t really care as long as you’re.. a girl. Plastic surgery does just that. Since men are visually stimulated the plastic girl would get chosen over a normal girl but really, as men, we’ll fuck any girl.

        • Most people with fucked up grills will need work done for health purposes.

I suppose you could say it’s the same as these celebs getting veneers.

The societal issue is what we’re getting at though. Something has to change at some point or you end up with a population that is 100% artificial. Ironically, at that point nobody is special.

        • The patriarchal society thing he refers to is primarily that women are supposed to be, for lack of a better term, sex toys and baby making objects. Bluntly.

I mean, most have no real upward mobility in the workplace and are expected to be housewives when they get married.

The options are very slim for women, hence the emphasis on beauty, because the key to riches for women is men, and the key to men is beauty.

Not saying it’s right, but that’s what he means by heavily patriarchal society.

I dont know that many people with braces, but those i do know all got them for aesthetic reasons..Especially those who got them after their teenage years…Thats why i equated the two. I dont know stats but id be very surprised if aesthetic applications werent very close to medical applications in this day and age…

IATFB cleared up the patriarchal issue well. An ugly woman in korea fails at life, its that simple…sad perhaps, but thats how shit works.

        • nana-ate-my-nana

          IATFB,

i get what your saying…but i think theres a long way to go before that point. I also think surgery rates are kinda overstated.

and what do we class as artificial? i mean what level of surgical change? the eyelid thing? its so minor that i dont really see it as a thing now.

        • It was both for me. It would help me conform to the societal norm in America, and if I didn’t do it, I would have problems with my jaw. My aunt didn’t do it and she had migraines due to an underbite and had to fracture her jaw to get it corrected.

        • Dunno, eyelid surgery can result in a significant outward facial change, which is why it’s looked at the way it is.

The further you deviate from what you were born with, the more heat you’re likely to take for being unnatural.
