There’s actually a lot of asian americans that i know cannot hold chopsticks properly. What asian parents do is give their children chopsticks and expect them to know how to use it like its natural to us, they never “teach” them on how to use it properly, so most asian americans grow up using it incorrectly, i know i did. Basically Jessica is actually a true asian american.

i never generalized asian americans like how they’re not true asian americans for not knowing how to use chopsticks, all i said was Jessica is really an american hence being in korea most of her life and unlike other korean americans she does display her american side a bit more.

What makes an Asian American “true”? I use chopsticks correctly but I AM a “true” Asian American. I don’t see how using chopsticks (properly or not) makes you more or less Asian American. If you are of Asian ethnicity/descent, and were born in America or lived in America at a young age/for an extended period of time, then you are Asian American, period.
