Gotta love that aspect of Asian culture, though. It provides an endless source of comedy.
I remember seeing a picture of a little Japanese girl (maybe 4yrs old) wearing a little t-shirt with a teddy bear on it flicking its middle finger with the words “Fuck Off” written in bold letters underneath.

I love how in cities in Asia you can go around with that kind of stuff without worrying being looked down on or bashed about it. (Since a small percentage of them knows English, especially the slangs and profanity) I could go to Tokyo right now blasting the explicit version of ‘Up’ by LoveRance and I’ll have people dancing along with me, while wearing a shirt showing a cartoon version of Hu Jintao peeing on the American flag….Not saying I have such a shirt…

random but i was actually wondering about this because my friend brought back a calender from japan of some japanese actor and there was a lot of english on it that made absolutely zero sense (it was really funny though). i’ve also seen this a lot on the korean products my friend has. so why do they use bad english on a lot of products if they don’t know how to write correct english? why not just write in korean or japanese? its definitely funny but still…

But it works both ways… how about Hollywood celebs who tattoo Chinese words, thinking it’s cool? They’re walking around with wierd tattoos which makes no sense in Chinese thinking they are cool.
you have a good point about the tattoos. and its not just hollywood celebs. a girl i know recently got some chinese tattooed on her neck. i haven’t seen it yet but it probably makes no sense. luckily it hasn’t gotten extremely common on american/western products
My friend has a shirt that says “I Make Gool Baby”… He couldn’t understand why I was laughing so much. XD

But, western countries do it with Asian languages too. At hot topic I saw a shirt that had Godzilla destroying stuff and it said “お母さん” on it. I wonder who decided “mother” was an appropriate word for that shirt. x)
LOL! I saw the same shirt at a Hot Topic too. I also see tools and douches with Chinese tatted on them thinking they know what it means. One guy had “贱女人” on his neck and it means cheap whore. (¬‿¬) Best thing I seen ever. Until he caught me laughing and I called him out on it. Never ran so hard in my life…
LOL that’s awesome. This dude I know bought a hoodie with Chinese written on it, except the characters were all upside down AND backwards, and they didn’t even make sense. Just some weird business name. >_> lmao

This reminds me of my friend’s story. He’s a westerner and he told us when he was on holiday in Asia previously he thought of getting a tattoo on a wild impulse.
He went into one of those dingy tattoo palours in Asia and he asked for a dragon or something fierce on his butt. But he mangled up the communication or the Asian guy misunderstood and so he ended up w Mickey Mouse on his butt to this day.
Sounds quite unbelievable right… he offered to show it to us to prove that he wasn’t lying but we didn’t take him up :-)
I once saw a shirt with Korean on it and on the back it said “2 dick in mouth”
