MBC says to beware of dating foreigners + conversation about foreigners in Asia + cock discussion

The title of this “journalism” piece is “The Shocking Reality About Relationships With Foreigners“, and it was produced by MBC.

Why not just title it, “HOLY FUCK FOREIGNERS ARE EVIL PLEASE GET THE FUCK OUT OF KOREA YOU LITTLE SHITS“? Would be honest, at least.

Seriously though, do I even need to say how ridiculous the video is and how it’s a perfect example of why I say Korean journalism is atrocious? It’s terrible in concept, but worse yet, it’s lazily done.

If they wanted to take a delusionally racist and biased stance, they could at least do it convincingly, not cite like three anonymous people as their sources and leave it at that.

They are so shitty at journalism that they can’t even manipulate people correctly. Gosh.

With that said, Korea as a whole (culture/society) is currently getting eviscerated for this, which shouldn’t shock you because I see it being done all the time.

What I want to talk about though is why that happens so often in the international community and why there are so few voices internationally who bother to speak honestly about foreigners in Asia.

I’m not going to defend anything in the video, because it’s all horseshit, but whenever people get up in arms about even the tiniest of slights against them by people in Asia, it does amuse me a bit because I don’t see any of that passion when foreigners actually do fuck things up.

—–

Look, in all fairness to Korea, it’s not like foreigners in Asia are the best representatives of their respective countries.

There are loads of blogs run primarily by white male foreigners in Asia, talking about their good and bad experiences and what not. A few of them are cool and I enjoy their perspective. I know some have read stuff at Asian Junkie as well, because they’ve linked to it.

With that said, a lot of the others I’ve stumbled on frequently complain about stupid shit all the time, and when the topic of stereotypes or xenophobia in Asia comes up, they always get on the highest of the high horses and complain about it incessantly. Yet, in all their rage, never do they seem to consider it from the Asian point of view. Let’s be honest, the reality is that there are a sizable amount of foreigners in Asia that are:

1) There for sex with Asian women.

Honestly, it’s a fair enough reason. Do whatever you want, fuck away. However, much like Asian sex tourists (and there are a ton, trust me), they aren’t doing any favors to the image of foreigners in the country. This would appear to be common sense, but nobody internationally wants to even acknowledge this reality … ever.

2) There because they are in the military.

The military undoubtedly does an important duty for every country, but being around the military myself when I was in my teens, the reality is that many of the non-officers are young men who want to act like young men. Getting drunk, fucking tons of women, and getting into testosterone induced fighting/shenanigans. All things that are expected, and I’m not dissing the military, but again, that type of shit does nothing for the reputation of foreigners.

That doesn’t even address the people in the military who don’t want to be in Asia to begin with and post emo stories about being shipped back there. Clearly they aren’t exactly going to be doing wonders for the foreigner image either.

3) There because they got some useless liberal arts degree*, can’t find a better job in America, and being an English teacher is the best they can do at the moment.

*I have one too, I’m just saying a lot of people don’t do shit with them. Be honest, you know people like that too.

I imagine if any English teachers in Asia read that reason, they’ll get mad about it. But still, I’ve seen this play out far too often to just dismiss it as if it never happens. I mean, for fuck’s sake, just go on Dave’s ESL Cafe and see the most bitter group of individuals on the planet.

Still, part of the fault for this falls on Asia, because all you need to become a teacher there is a random college degree and you can get paid to basically be a foreign face that can fluently repeat words. However, the amount of English teacher blogs I have read where they obviously hate being there is disturbing. When pressed as to why they don’t leave, it’s always about job availability and debt.

Why not, right? It’s a hell of a lot easier than trying to find a job in America with a 2.5 GPA in Sociology or whatever. Again, that type of “I’m here, but god I hate this place” attitude isn’t exactly helping to ease tensions.

—–

Not all foreigners are like that, obviously, and most of the respected writers/bloggers take offense to it specifically because they are not like that and resent being associated with them, but rarely do they address why foreigners in Asia generally come off like they do.

If we’re being honest about this issue, we have to be completely honest, right? I’m honest in my criticism of Korea and Japan on this site, you can go back and see my article history for that, but it’s rare that you see these blogs run by foreigners address the problems that foreigners actually do cause.

When they write about issues foreigners have in Asia, rarely (and personally, I’ve never seen it, but I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt here) do I see the shitty foreigners get shamed to an equal degree as Asian culture/society does, which certainly does nobody any favors, nor does it prevent shitty behavior.

—–

Put it this way, look at stereotypes in America and consider that we’re exposed to other races in everyday interaction, but we’re STILL horrid about stereotypes. Primarily because we’re human, I suppose. Now take a racially homogenous region, provide a generally negative history of foreign interaction in the region, provide a solid amount of foreigners who either don’t want to be there or do act like pricks, and well, it doesn’t surprise me that xenophobia exists, and to act surprised about it is just naive.

Xenophobia/stereotypes/racism, of course, are not right, and I’ve always said that we as humans should judge people as individuals, but if one is to take the opinions of these blogs done by foreigners seriously (when they speak in generalizations themselves), then they have to hold the shitty people accountable and not pretend like they are some insignificant minority or that they don’t exist and all foreigners are innocent victims. It’s the same reason why even though I believe strongly in Asian American causes and what not, I do dedicate a significant amount of time talking about Asian Americans and what we can do better instead of just bitching about how much we get fucked over.

In this case, literally all I see in the international media and blogosphere is bitching about how they are getting fucked over. Almost nothing is written about what foreigners can do to change their image, despite the fact that they have gigantic readerships and influence. These types of issues are never a one-way street, but people like to pretend they are because it makes them feel morally superior. That’s why what you see is stories about how racist Asia is and how terrible it is for foreigners, but you hardly ever see a thought like:

Hey, maybe this is partially on us? Could it be because a lot of us do act like fucking dicks? Maybe we should try to make sure that others don’t act like assholes in a foreign country instead of only complaining constantly about the said country and inciting bitterness that only exacerbates the problem!

—–

Anyway, I realize this will read to some as an apologist rant for Korea (or Asia, in general). However, I have always acknowledged that the issue being tackled here is a real and troublesome problem, but given that the views I expressed are an extreme minority in a sea of international slant in the other direction, I don’t think it’s that hard to figure out why I felt I needed to write this.

All I’m trying to say is that there are two viewpoints to most everything, and fault usually lies on both sides of the fence, so if we’re going to have honest conversations about trying to solve issues, it’s important that people don’t pretend the other side doesn’t exist.

==========

I initially stumbled across the video here, posted on Twitter by James Turnbull of The Grand Narrative.

In the comments section of the video, people are rightly upset, but I found this amusing:

I can’t speak for everybody, but as an Asian male, I’ve never personally understood why so many white guys have this specific view of what Asian dudes think of their cocks, and I’m choosing to single this out because I see it being used ALL THE TIME in serious discourse.

While we’re being honest, I’ll just say that I’ve never thought to myself, “Goddamn, I wish I had a white dick.” Nor can I ever recall feeling inferior to a white guy just on the basis that he was white.

I dunno, is it just me or are white dudes obsessed with cock? Like everything about the sexual dynamic to them seems to be about dick. Most of the time I see them talking about white/Asian sexual relations, they are talking about dick size. Then they turn around and act all offended when people suggest that they are the ones who look down on Asians and not vice versa.

Like from personal experience, I was with an Asian girl at a club and a white guy came up to her in front of me and said that he has “a six inch dick for her” whenever she wants.

Here were our faces:

1) Who the fuck uses that as a line?

2) Six inches?

Good grief, is that supposed to drop panties?

OH YEAH BABY YOU WANT DAT AVERAGE DICK DON’T YOU

3) He would have never used that line if she was with anybody but an Asian dude.

Furthermore, a white ex-boyfriend of a girl I was dating sent me threatening messages because he was mad she told him that my dick was bigger than his in a fight they had when he wouldn’t stop calling her. It was weird.

Granted, it’s anecdotal, but on message boards I see the same things being said, and then you factor in shit like the cuckolding fetish with black dudes and what not and … yeah.

I mean, to me, logically, unless you’re a foot long or you marry a virgin, chances are good that somebody with a larger cock than yours has pummeled the woman you love deeper than you ever will.

So sorry, it’s … odd to care about to me.

A random tangent, but it’s something I wanted to address. I’m sure a ton of Asian dudes do this as well, probably out of insecurity too, but I dunno, just relaying what I’ve lived.

  1. meh its same sort of program that told the koreans us imported beefs are going to kill everyone…

    some koreans do have americanitis…

      • there are some koreans with only perception of western world is through tv, movies and what they can catch on the news. when some chicks or dudes see hit american tv shows like sex in the city or law and order svu on xtn or whatever, they think oooh, america is so glamourous. i would like a piece of the action and gravitate toward westerners. hence the americanitis

        • If that were the case, they’d “learn” that American women are ugly and stupid and that everybody in America are child rapists.

    • Well … our food industry does suck.

  2. Sure was a long article. I just think frankly
Korea is still not culturally accepting…a lot are starting to be but the majority are still unwilling. Probably to do with cultural pride.

  3. Long but worth it if you’ve ever tortured yourself reading comments internationally. Like with that Kim Tae Hee international fans issue.

Don’t read those blogs, but do see commenters at allkpop and Omona They Didn’t read an article about an issue in Korea and start belittling Koreans.

Or when Korea does make a change they wanted, their comments are like patting Koreans on the head like they are a trained pet now or something. Annoying.

I’m not even Korean and even I resent them at that point.

“Like from personal experience, I was with an Asian girl at a club and a white guy came up to her in front of me and said that he has “a six inch dick for her” whenever she wants.”

That is one of the saddest things I have ever heard.
    ________________________________________

Totally agree with the need to look at this from both sides. That MBC video was hilariously terrible and biased, but those 3 problems are very real, judging from what I’ve read on other blogs.

  5. Korean media needs to have a fucking seat. Just shut their shit down completely get some real journalism skills then put some decent stuff up.

About the foreigner thing, sadly and unfortunately there’s too much of them that has that type of mindset when going to a different country. I seen that type of shit all the time. Ethnocentrism, arrogance, and ignorance seems to play the major roles inside that tiny brain of theirs. Once they see the tables turn on them; “ASIAN PEOPLE ARE BEING MEANIES! ALL I’M DOING IS EXPRESSING MYSELF!” They just be spreading the bullshit. What’s fucked up you’re only getting their side of the story, their viewpoints. People like that fuck up up for the rest who has an ACTUAL appreciation of things.

    • its not a real news program. sheesh..

      • Don’t act like their real news is tons better.

        Even Koreans think it’s horseshit.

        • the network nightly news are alright. not too opinionated.. pandering to the lowest intelligence a bit but pieces tend to stay somewhere in the middle. that one guy in mbc used to interject opinion in his news casting… but usually for the right reason.

  6. Lmao. I just watched that yesterday, I saw it on twitter.

Well yeah, I know for a fact that most, if not all, Asian countries don’t like foreigners. I mean, they’re not the only ones causing trouble but at least you should act properly esp because you’re in another country. Other Asian countries just don’t express it, for the sake of tourism & profit probably. Lol though Korea has balls. I never expected something like this to happen.

Oh yeah & foreigners just tend to be douchebags. I have lots of stories about that since there are a lot of them in the building where I live. Half of them are nuts.

  7. Victims of foreigners!
We are going to invade your country and take all your women! TROLOLOL

    But seriously, just use condoms.

  8. Finally! The first link I saw didn’t have subs so thanks for linking that.

I wonder if Koreans really do take these things to heart. Then again, it’s still a fairly isolated country in terms of exposure to different cultures so I wouldn’t be surprised if they just ate it up.

And it’s funny that the producers didn’t even think to talk about foreign women. I’ve always imagined how Koreans in general would react to a black female like myself if I would ever decide to visit. I doubt that foreign women have that same stigma attached to them like foreign males do but I’m guessing the perception isn’t all that positive either? o_o

But I have to say that’s one of the biggest things I cannot stand about international fans. Being from two different cultures, I’ve learned to try to see everything from different angles. But international fans, particularly the Westerners, feel the need to hold Koreans accountable according to their standards, beliefs, etc. So when a Korean says or does something that would be perceived to be out of line or inappropriate, they call them all sorts of names without thinking that this is their culture and it’s deemed acceptable or not shocking there. Perhaps some of it has to do with homogeneous Asian countries being a bit ignorant to how their actions/words may be perceived by international viewers, but at the end of the day, international fans go out of their way to watch a COMPLETELY different culture. They can’t honestly expect them to abide by their moral/cultural norms and expectations, can they? But unfortunately, they do. Way too many times to count, actually.

    • Korean male/foreign female pairings aren’t that big of a deal.

Huge market for foreign prostitutes in Korea too.

If you notice, that’s why they are only focusing on Korean female/foreign male pairings.

  9. As for MBC, wasn’t it involved in the blackface skit that was done a few months ago? lol Their reputation among foreigners couldn’t get any worse at this point.

    • they’ve been doing black face sketches for years and years.. just that more forigners are exposed to korean programing thanka to the internet.

  10. The couple from eat your kimchi, aren’t they english teachers?
I think that the hate towards foreigners happens in every country, but maybe the difference is that in Korea is with foreigners from everywhere (compared with hate towards ppl from an especific country)

    • They WERE English teachers but now they blog full-time. I’ve realized that EYK do experience a bit of the downside of being foreigners in Korea. They tweeted a link to this article written by Debito Arudou (this dude is a really controversial foreigner in Japan whose been criticized by Japanese media for expressing his discontent in a “combative” way) about “microagressions” (http://www.japantimes.co.jp/text/fl20120501ad.html#.T5_KUR_xgvZ.facebook)

I get that they may always get stares or random strangers may be surprised because they speak more than just a few Korean sentences, but honestly, complaining about it is useless. One should know that as long as you’re in a homogenous country like Japan and Korea, of COURSE you’re going to get the occasional stare from strangers. Might as well get used to it now…

      • Yeah, they’ve been living there long enough to start giving a fuck

      • They say that, but if they weren’t white, they wouldn’t get the access they do and they wouldn’t be able to do what they do full-time.

        Good with the bad.

      • And you know what too, not trying to offend white people but being honest, in many countries where they’re from.. THEY’RE the dominate race. So well, now they can experience how to be the ‘different one’ in a place where they’re not the majority.. but now the minority. I’m sure many non-white foreigners aren’t gonna be as shaken up with stares since in the countries they’re most likely from, they probably get stares from time to time too (I know I do.. I expect it more when I’m in a different country.. it’s kinda obvious I’m the oddball)

It made me remember the many ignorant Americans who say to American Asians “Oh WOW… your English is REALLY good!!” and they were born/raised in the US….

  11. It all leads back to cocks doesn’t it?

    • Exactly right! In the end the issue is always who has the biggest penis, symbolic or literally speaking.

    • Just to clarify my statement.. i’m speaking about how the diplay of power toward others is symbolically related to ‘the biggest penis issue’.

  12. Anyways, if you’re a non-asian wishing to live in Asia, why even choose Korea (Aka one of the most close-minded countries around) ?

What about Japan, Thailand (the good regions of course), or heck, even HK ? Not only salary is better there but cost of living is just as cheap, + they are more used to foreigners than anyone else.

    • Cuz of all the hot K-pop babes of course.

    • Standards for English teachers are lowest in Korea from what I’ve seen.

      • But they seem to requite more paperwork crap at least compared with Japan. Official notarized and apostille copy of this and that and blah blah (where as Japan don’t really ask for that.) But at least from my research, they cover more of housing and airflight compared to Japan. But…. yeah I do think Japan have a super high standard (or at least that’s the feeling that I get)

    • nana-ate-my-nana

As IATFB said, standards in korea are extremely low. Pay is better in korea because they give you free flights and a free apartment so no rent. Living costs are far cheaper in korea than japan and probably on par with some parts of HK.

but yeah, the chick thing factors into it for a lot of foreigners in korea..americans especially.

  13. I’d like to hear the foreign female perspective as well. I’ve heard (no first-hand experience or scientific studies) Western women are pretty much seen as easy sluts who will sleep with most anyone when asked. Thus, a Korean guy might bang a foreign woman, but he wouldn’t date her and he sure as hell wouldn’t marry her. So I doubt they’re seen as the threat white men are. I think it would be much harder for a Western woman to establish any type of permanent life in an Asian country.

    • Well, naturally.

It’s harder for women, in general.

      • Nah, it’s not harder for women if they are teaching.
In the korean culture, most people think that women are the only ones who “should” teach and males need to get “real” professions.

Of course if you’re a guy trying to teach, you’ll definitely find some jobs, butthe general mindset in korea is that women are the better teachers.

I think about it for a hot second because when Asians speak of foreigners for the west that think of Europeans non-blacks and other white people. They don’t think much of black people. Consider their lack of experience with blacks where does all the prejudice towards them today comes from or is partially influence by?

One of those million dollar question. You get it right realize the ugliness of racism and how white dominate west made impossible to be seen as a human being with dignity.

Needles to say many of the foreigner in South Korea blogs are from black women who are ESL or international students. They dwell on various topics from sex, inappropriate touching to racism. The white ones I read are treated more better than the black ones I read.

When I read about a white person in South Korea, The complain stems along the inability to use privilege freedom. The coming to terms as being the minority and possibly seen non trust worthy. Things they have done to others now is being done to them. Either way its never as harsh to someone who is non-black.

But Korea has an influx of Russian prostitutes, YouTube to watch white pop stars make asses of themselves with over sexual objectification and the mistaken ideal being white+money+power=privilege. Maybe Koreans are giving a reality check and a word of caution to their citizens.

Also many black women aren’t loose like some white women over there. As far as military any race is deemed as pretty bad or tied to male order prides. For non-military men its the opposite.

As far Asian men in penis. That is also for Black and Hispanic men. White people are convince Blacks have the biggest dicks and Hispanic men can’t keep their dicks in their pants.

racism makes the world go around, keep the locals stupid and the fear that foreign is to be fear

    • S.Korea treats mixed koreans as aliens too so….
In fairness,it’s great to go in different places as a tourist bec.they treat you as a money source, but to live off there and be a local?expect the different treatment bec.you are foreign.
I think every race has a phobia in another races.I have bias thoughts too,,I can’t help it!!

      • mybiasbeatsyourbias

When my eldest brother was station in Korea his experience were bad. He was robbed.

In fact one of the common things or fears or foreigners is robbery. Korean has it fair share of vacationers, foreign business and teachers having or having close accounts to robbery.

He was “tricked” by a Korean women who claim she was attacked. My brother is a 5’4 dude that looks like a Mexican who spent to much time in the sun. He came to her add and he was jump.

He would also speak about the massive sized rice field rats. How the Korean country side like common electricity in some homes. Yet the people were humble towards him in contrast of city dwellers.

He also worked along sided with Korean soldiers who were mostly mandatory. The American and Korean would have P.T together. He worked in military intelligence. He was one of the few minorities there who wasn’t Asian.

He said you knew they been out all the night before. Drinking soju and eating kimchi. When they had to do their runs you can watch their lethargy take over. At the end of the run they would be smelly from the soju and was kimichi farting along the way.

He also was just as bad as them except he reach of Jim Bean whiskey and kimichi farts.

        lol

Another than that people so SoKo are tame towards foreigners.

I spoke with another solider non-related to me. She also sever in the Army but in Japan recently.

She is white women and pretty tall (5’10) and ask her about what she experience. She inform that when she was in civilian clothing people were rather nice and polite. But in her military dress people would be rather would, redirect their eye contact and often times not move out of her way.

Over in all both my brother and the other women experiences in Asia was fairly positive.

But this article and what the televised show is expressing is something typical of the fear of travel.

I mean I went to Germany and everyone was convince because I was the only minority student attending that I would experience racism. In fact that never happen and I was treated very kindly except my German house mother who was a control freak.

To everyone surprise I wasn’t being excluded because of my skin. But I have read about other travels non-black but Asian who went to Germany and was discriminated heavily.

Its always different but how you present yourself and the choices you make will always define what that particular nation of people maybe about.

Isn’t that so odd how we make a few speak for the many?

    • nana-ate-my-nana

black americans/euros in korea are just as bad as white americans/euros…black africans are significantly worse in certain ways.

      just fyi.

      • black africans?isn’t african supposed to have dark skin?

        • Africa is a continent, not one big country like some seem to think. There’s MANY different types of shades, ethnicities, colors etc in Africa, not just ‘black.’ Many people overall generalize Africa like it’s one big Sub-Sahara place with everyone looking Ethiopian or something but… there’s other people there ^^;;

        • yeah, but since i have never been there nor i know anyone who have been there before my only source of info are tv and internet, and they always show dark skin africans,,

        • nana-ate-my-nana

Not everyone in africa is black. I was simply distinguishing between black people from the US/Euro and those from Africa.

        • chrlize theoron… african btw.. she did a sketch on snl about being an african american..

      • mybiasbeatsyourbias

That is true that black Africans can be treated more badly but its depends on the situation.

Germany a majority white nation lets say 90% treated me better than that of Americans when it came to my heritage and racial identity.

I don’t want to say that all black foreigners behave more accordingly but from personal experience, shared stories with other non-white travelers and reading people’s blog.

I find white travelers on ethnic soil or non European solid struggle to fit in it they don’t feel constantly included or above the social class.

This is more common with American travelers and American soldiers. Even when I was in Germany its was the white students who behave with such privilege and the freedom to be disrespectful. This was more evident with our white male student travelers than some of the white female.

In fact the Germans were disgusted by how some of the American students were acting.

It was the same attitude when my mom was station in Germany in the late 1970′s early 80′s. I think she account one older German spitting on her and her husband at the time. Other than that the Germans were curious about her because of her mixed heritage.

Many of the Germans express to her that its white Americans they can not stand the most but black foreigners do not bother them. Verse the false norm that Germans are very prejudice people. Neither are those in Holland which I’ve been there also. Its really your attitude and how you carry yourself.

This dude was a jackass and played Korean women as fools. But in turn those Korea women are fools to believe in his bullshit. Just because he was on TV doesn’t make him famous. Just because he is a white male doesn’t mean he has money.

Why are these women think white foreign are like this comes from the false belief of white=power=wealth. Korea is well aware despite the prejudice.

I sometimes hate American culture for what it truly stands for is just degrading all around.

        • nana-ate-my-nana

Americans are american…as a foreigner, i don’t really see any difference in behavior between the average white american and the average black american. Especially when they are in groups together, as they almost always are.

Soldiers are another matter..Soldiers in korea act very badly…both black and white.

        • A part of it seems to revolve around white Americans/Europeans not being used to being a minority.

They find out it sucks real quick. Unsurprisingly, it leads to confrontations and what not.

It’s rather ironic in a sense.

    • Their stereotypes and views are from foreign shows and movies and what not.

  15. Since you so honest in your post without bothering to be politically correct, I will be honest about with my thoughts too.

I live in Asia and I hate the reactions of our locals towards foreigners.

White foreigners are looked upon as some kind of ‘gods’, with the mistaken beliefs that they are richer, more powerful and yes, more sexually desirable.

Hello? Rich or power or bigger dicks do not apply to all white foreigners. Some are nice, some are nasty, some are rich, some are acting like a prick in Asia be’cos they aint respected in their own country!

Sorry, but this affects me when I see my own family members acting up because hey, so-and-so got a white boyfriend!

Yeah, big deal. I am not against white people as I interact with them on a daily basis and we always get along well, but I am so pissed off when I see my friends or family act like just because you are white, you are some kind of ‘god’.

Local women swoon if they attract the attentions of a white guy and show off their white boyfriend, as if being white means that it’s better.

What’s wrong with a guy in your own culture? Is he poorer, smaller, his penis smaller? What do you need such a big penis for anyway?

I prefer to date a guy in my own culture. Not because I am anti other races, but simply because we have lots of shared cultural norms in common, it’s much easier to understand each other. I find local men attractive and I like the way they look and behave.

A white guy friend once told me, a rose looks good now (where he was in Asia), but he can’t bring her (back to his own country), because a rose doesn’t smell as sweet once he is back and realizes his friends’ white women seem better than his Asian girlfriend/slut.

Yeah, that’s what happened to my relative. She married a white guy she picked up in a bar. He took the longest time to commit to her, she literally had to beg him to marry her. After they were married, now he treats her like a prick, and insinuates that her asian family are trying to sponge off him. He literally cuts himself off from her family as if they were a bunch of idiots.

Have some self respect local women. Why be with a guy who looks down on you? Why have to be so unequal in a relationship?

Sorry for the long rant. Just had to get it off my chest.

    • nana-ate-my-nana

wow you have some issues lol..

what country are you talking about?

      • Yah… you see I got woken by noisy neighbors at 3 am… wasn’t in a good mood, flipped on my laptop and typed a very angry post :-)

But I am better now :-) bright and cheery to face a new day. I will need loads of coffee today… cos many things to do… :-)

    • You better fucking preach! Same song and dance where I’m from too. I wanna slap a bitch silly when I witness such fuckery they spew out their mouths. In a way you can’t really blame them, because that’s how those type of men are portrayed. But what bothers me, some of these “glorious foreigners” they making a fuss out of, are the most vile looking person you would ever see. Not only they’re old and ugly, they’re super old and ugly. To add insult to injury, they’re fat too. Man, at least be one of those things! (I seriously just upchucked when I thought back when my aunt was dating some Austrian guy) But not all foreigners aren’t like that, they just happen to be the majority.

    • I’m assuming you’re talking about China, but I’m not sure what you’re so angry about. In Asia, outmarriage by males are far more common than outmarriage by females. If anything, it’s the men who are marrying out of their ethnic group.

      —–

If you look different compared to what’s normal, you will get an inordinate amount of attention. That’s to be expected, really.

It works both ways. There are positives and negatives to being a foreigner in Asia, but again, people never want to tackle both sides of the coin.

I highly doubt most of the foreigners there would give up looking like a foreigner to look like the people of whatever Asian country they’re in.

The ones who genuinely just love the country/culture/people and want to live there might, but the regular people? Giving up standing out is probably the worst thing that could happen to them.

      • Nah, I am not talking about China.

It’s not about being a foreigner and looking different. It’s about the local people’s mentality towards white foreigners.

White foreigners are believed to be ‘superior’ because presumably, they have economic power and money.

Other foreigners from the poorer countries are denigrated and criticized no matter how “different” and “special” they look.

I don’t know the details of the stats you mean, but outmarriage by Asian men are not mainly to white women but to women from poorer Asian countries.

This is a trend because in the materialistic city we live in, girls presumably demand the 6 Cs – Cash, Credit Card, Condominium, CEO, Car, Country Club when getting a partner.

Men who fall behind in the rat race marry brides from poorer neighboring countries.

        It’s economics and politics…

        • nana-ate-my-nana

You seem unwilling to tell us which country you are referring to :o but if its 3rd world asia, its almost always true that the whites there are in better financial situations than a majority of the population.

Why is that a view you take issue with?

        • @nana-ate nana- i remember she said last time that her country is below thailand…,,,it is really frustrating that the majority of the locals in your country thinks all white foreigner they see is richer and treat them better than you even if you can pay better than them.it wasn’t a good mindset since foreigner might think that they are above the locals.it’s not the same for black people, here they think black is ugly and slave from other countries,,i don’t know!!!people’s mentality are messed up.

btw,,are you going to stay now?what does o: mean?i always see that..

        • Has to do with hegemony and what not.

It’ll take an essay to go into, but depending on the country, it’s not necessarily a wrong assumption.

        • Sorry, just finished my stuff to do.

I googled! Apparently the country where I live is a first world country…

Hm, we are ranked the world’s 3rd richest countries by Forbes http://www.forbes.com/sites/bethgreenfield/2012/02/22/the-worlds-richest-countries/

        • nana-ate-my-nana

Below thailand…That could still be a bunch of places :o Id be surprised if she(?) is talking about malaysia or singapore as theres lots of well rich locals in both places. Indonesia i can see it..and if you class cambodia etc as below…now I’m curious where she means :o

As for the mindset, i dunno…If a poor 3rd world chick faces a choice between two dudes, one from the US and one from a local poor village, theres an extremely high chance that her life with the american will be easier simply because of the financial issues.

Ive visited some poor countries and lived in one with some very poor parts of society and i never felt i was better than the locals cos i had more money….i dunno if thats a common thing.

i do think that lots of white folk get inflated ideas of their own self worth after living in asia for a while..simply because of the attention they get. Not necessarily sexual attention, but the looks and curiosity in general. Ive met sooooooo many white guys in asia who would be regarded as below average in the west but they really believe they are hot shit after a few weeks in asia.

I’ve been a bit busy, ill be posting on and off..but ill be back annoying you all in about a month. :o is like embarrassed or something.

        • nana-ate-my-nana

Singapore? Interesting..Surprising at first, but then i realized how few foreign english teachers are there and how many big international businesses are located in sg. So its not that outrageous to think that the businessmen around would be well off…but yeah, it is a bit odd to hear…singapore is pretty balla.

        • Let me tell you how lousy he was…

During his wedding to my cousin, they held it in some castle in the UK. We were invited, and my cousin asked us to help her pay some of her wedding expenses.

I remember my then boyfriend and I paid USD 800 per night for one week to stay in the castle with the families, friends and everyone. We were still students then.

Mid way through the wedding our families discovered that only the Asian guests paid for all the expenses of the wedding, day tours, celebrations and the white guests had everything paid for. So in essence he was fucking us by asking us “poor” Asians pay double portion for his freeloading white friends and guests, for everything from dinners to bridesmaid dresses.

Does he treat us as family?

I won’t say that my family is well off, but we have two live in domestic helpers, maids doing the housework and cooking for us children.

        • nana-ate-my-nana

It sounds like you had a bad experience and are kinda bitter about it…are you sure it was a racial thing? Forcing the asians to pay?

Couldn’t it equally have been the groom paying for his family/friends and not those of his wife? Its a bit of a douche move, but assuming its a racism thing is bit of a stretch :o

Also detected a bit of racism in your posts on this issue..

        • she’s a girl too..,life will be easier simply because of the financial issues when marrying a foreigner rather than local?isn’t the simplest form of living are eating complete meals, living in a decent home and buying things you want and needs which is a normal everyday occurrence? marrying to gain a financier for life is just lazy..is this what you mean back then?

        • nana-ate-my-nana

Nobody is saying to marry just for money, but to ignore money completely is something only very young girls do :o and frequently end up in terrible situations as a result.

Everyone loves to deny it but money decides whether or not your life will be a happy one in 99% of cases.

        • I am sorry that this silly story has become so complicated…

@ Nana, he collected double payment from us so that his family and friends did not have to pay

Suffice to say that we found out by accident when we asked the castle hotel management for the bill and realized that he had been collecting extra money from us. Then we asked his white friends how much they paid and they were surprised, they didn’t pay anything

Shucks I shan’t say anymore about this. Case closed. :-) Move on to happier topics :-)

        • nana-ate-my-nana

haha what the fuck..ok, dude was a total dick..thats grounds to call off a wedding imo. Was the bride cool with it?

I take back the racist comment, i think i misread one of your previous posts.

    • chinese don’t really like their bloodline be soiled by another race in my place.,and they encourage it there?so sad about your experience but i think it depends on the person you’ve been dealing with,it just happen that the foreign guy is not as open minded as your family wants him to be.but hey,my grand dad is a foreigner too and he got along with my grandma well.although there were 19 yrs.of age difference(he’s a good man okay and my grandma is not a prostitute, she came from a legit clan so don’t judge us)they were married and my grandma’s family don’t depend or ask anything from my grand dad,i think that’s also a plus, cause in other country, they don’t practice a close family tie relationship,so financial dependent is an issue if one side ask for it..

  16. Do people know girls only feel up to 3-4 inches? lmao.

    • TheCorinthian

      For real?! O.O

      • As I understand it, most of the nerve endings are 3-4 inches in, and a lot of women can’t orgasm without clitoral stimulation anyway (or it’s extremely difficult for them).

Still, to say that 3-4 inches is sufficient is kidding yourself.

Talking to women, it’s not so much the length but the girth. Also, people have different preferences, obviously, and some enjoy the fullness effect that a larger penis would have.

Again though, to act as if cock size is the main factor in relationships is odd to me when there are so many more minute issues that you have to deal with every second of every day.

    • That’s kinda like saying “you know – big boobs aren’t really any more useful than smaller ones”.

That said, I’m pretty sure most women would rank dick size lower on their priority list than a lot of other traits.

    • I read some scientific report that studied that the physical traits like penis size and vagina size does varies correspondingly with ethnic groups in averages.

The study concluded that if the particular ethnic group men on average have this size dicks, the women of the same ethnic group have a suitably corresponding sized vagina so that they can accomodate the penis comfortably.

Yeah, in case you were wondering, it does mean that Asian women have the tightest cxxx.

      • Pretty sure that’s bullshit.

      • Study was probably funded by a government grant, too.

        Your taxpayer dollars at work.

      • Asian women have babies come out of there like any other woman. I guess something magical happens during pregnancy that transforms an Asian vajayjay to the same size as other women.

I do not believe that Asian men have smaller penises than White men. The thing is that, atleast most of the Asian guys I know never try to disprove it.

….Now, men of African descent, they most definitely have bigger ones. They definitely do.

  17. I always wonder how do Asian/Korean dudes feel toward the foreign females that come over? Well… I know for the most part white girls get A LOT of attention (already experienced that when I went….) But do any cause like problems or have some negative stereotype? (dudes usually do because of mainly that whole male arrogant patriotic mindset [some American men just thinking they rule the world], was probably inferior in some way in whatever country they’re from, and then the thinking that all Asian women want foreign dudes/are great in bed) Not trying to generalize all men/foreign men going to Asia but many do have those mindsets, opinions and mannerisms. So I guess chicks aren’t really threatening then?

I read an interesting comment on Omona that intrigued me. They said that the people who are on strike are mostly the open-minded ones and the those who are left are most likely the conservatives so…. taking that into consideration, this kinda video (which I only read on Omona, not watched) doesn’t surprise me.

    • Foreigners get a lot of attention, period.

Asian men can be less predatory to foreign women than to Asian women. A lot of the normal ones tell me they are scared of foreign women because they are always yelling and hitting their men on television shows.

      LOL

      • Well I suppose black women are the most feared of all since we’re always angry, snapping are fingers, rolling our necks and hanging out with our thugged out gangsta black dudes… so we must be just as violent as them >_>

      • Well when I was there for 3 weeks… generally no problems (I think some old creep dude was trying to hit on me……..? I dunno I bought something from him and when he gave me my change back he rubbed his finger in my palm. I know what that means where I live at but not sure if that carries the same meaning… or maybe? And I think this one dude who was friends with one of our kinda co-classmate/collaborator was friendly enough to talk to me ^^ But going by his Tupac shirt he seem to be into some US/black stuff too. Was hot too) But, at least I know women don’t really have much of a negative representation as much as dudes and in general most Asian dudes don’t seem that attracted to black chicks (though there will be that one creep) so..semi-yaaay….. since one decade…. I hope to go to teach English (and have been wanting to ever since I went to KR the first time) and wouldn’t mind the rural areas since that’s where I stayed mostly.

        • Black people just visiting can actually have an amusing time in Japan, especially if they hang out in the sub-cultures that basically worship black people.

          :o

        • ThatTealChick

I went to S. Korea late last year. When you read about what black women have to say about being in Korea, they’re not kidding or being overly dramatic.
Literally, if I wasn’t getting stares of horror, someone was staring at my boobs.
I was only there for a week and tbh, like you said earlier, being black, you kind of get used to stares for no reason so I wasn’t really bothered by it, but my friends were repulsed by the behavior and couldn’t see why I would even want to continue to stay in such a place (they even offered to fly us all home that day)
Over all, the trip wasn’t horrible. Aside from the stares, I actually really enjoyed myself. I even met a few really nice people who helped my friends and I around and had no problem being seen with us in public.
However, I don’t think I could live there.

  18. TheCorinthian

Different ethnic groups will always look down on each other. It’s up to individuals to show respect to one another.

    Haha 6 inch average pleasure.

  19. “…a white guy came up to her in front of me and said that he has “a six inch dick for her” whenever she wants…”

By the way – the offer still stands.

  20. The thing is that they (korea) wants the hallyu wave to become global. If they want their idols/actors/actresses to be world stars then they shouldn’t let things like this air on tv. I understand that SOME people go to a foreign country and act like an asshole, slut, or like they own the fucking place, but not all people do that. Everyone not just Korea needs to generalizing and stereotyping people.

And there is nothing worse than a teacher teaching that doesn’t really want to teach. I’ve had my expirence with those kind, and they don’t give a shit about if you learn anything or not.

Lastly, all the girls I know or have met don’t give a fuck about a guys dick size. What they do care about is how you treat them, if you remember their birthday and shit like that.

  21. I agree, a lot of the white dudes that have vlogs, or blogs about Korea are complete dicks, and I normally hate them all. So it just kind of sucks that all of the outcasts are pushing themselves there.
And as Hyorin said up there, 89 percent (Probably even higher) of them are pretty freaking unattractive, but you know how it is, you move to Korea as a white foreigner and you automatically look like Brad Pitt or Scarlett Johansan.
As for the video itself, how many people in Korea are going to get into this? I would like to think the younger generation would laugh at it, but you know them old folks are gossiping to their friends about it.
Also, in the video it was said that the women only date the men because they want to learn English. Only a dumb hoe would do something so shallow and expect something in return. Oh, and Korea didn’t have HIV’s until foreigners started going there.

    • nana-ate-my-nana

She said that some girls do that.

but why would only a dumb hoe think that? Ive met plenty of people simply for language reasons. Its a perfectly reasonable thing to do. The girls that do it are usually pretty up front or obvious about it.

Is meeting someone for english somehow more shallow than meeting someone just for sex?

      • Yeah, seems like a reason that would make sense.

      • It’s reasonable? It would make more sense to just be-friend that person instead of pursuing a romantic relationship if you don’t have feelings for that person.
Shallow people will always get together for shallow reasons, and that sucks.

        • nana-ate-my-nana

Wait…so you are saying its wrong to make a sexual relationship for reasons of language learning but its ok to make a friendship? So a night or two of sex VS an entire friendship based on lies and ulterior motive?

          Really?

I would MUCH rather have some chick pretend she wants to fuck me for a few days in order to practice english than for her to pretend to be my friend. Fuck, thats way more of a betrayal.

    • In all fairness, it works the other way too. What foreigners think is attractive isn’t necessarily the same as what they do.

  22. I’ve never been there either nor has my school really taught much about Africa except for the slave trade (and barely touched on the apartheid) but there’s many I guess you’ll say Arab countries in which the majority live in northern Africa.. and there’s the white south Africans who pretty much oppressed the native South Africans for decades (not anymore…well, I suppose not majorly anyway since I dunno the complete state of the whole country presently) but they’re still more or less African. Read wikipedia and educated your mind a bit more (not saying it in an insulting way)

    • ^
Is meant for Xu Czi Baby

    • we also briefly tackled africa during geography class, but we merely discuss about places, deserts and cities, slavery, forest and tribes there but not their skin colors.i guess i just assume it’s dark bec. of the info presented to me,i also read wikipedia but don’t rely on their info much since it sometimes fail,,anyway,i’m really learning a lot from you it’s nice to know other insights too about the other parts of the world.

      • Try wikipedia in English since I know different wikis in different languages don’t provide the same information. I’m guessing your school only taught about the Sub-Sahara-ish countries and places like Kenya, Niger (the name pretty much says it) Ethiopia (which actually means black/burnt face.. ) etc… and many people who live in those countries all look different with very different facial features, hair textures, skin color, etc (just like how not every East Asian really look the same) But I’ll say if Chinese wikipedia doesn’t have much info, definitely read it in English.

        • I also get my infos at national geographic channel, bio and other informative channels in cable tv,they are all in english,i’m not fluent at chinese, there are other 3 races in my dna too so…i’m blaming this african thing to my lazy professor..i listened to her well

      • Ah ok I only assumed you were (or… um… the other languages used in China and such) because you said you were from China… (I think?) Well in general you can’t just simply blame the teacher since she/he is only teaching what they’re suppose to, constructed by the school board and the curriculum. Tons of kids worldwide don’t really learn everything or only learn a small fraction of the big picture (as well as fabricated and/or non-in depth things) But of course watching those channels are really good since random historic stuff comes on but I myself just like hopping on Wiki since I rather read it (I get a better understanding especially if there’s something I don’t understand because I’ll just re-read or wiki up whatever I don’t get) and then before I know it, I’m reading stuff about something else and you’ll just start reading about random information that originally had nothing to do with what you initially started out reading but.. nothing wrong with more knowledge. Besides, when I do watch movies & stuff on TV.. I still turn around and wiki it up anyway (sometimes you get more background stuff.. and can always read the reference notes) I decided to read about the Democratic Republic of the Congo and how corrupted leaders and stuff was in that country and the genocides and rapes and other atrocities… ain’t like I learn that in school ^^;;

    • i like learning so i like you now (~_~)

  23. You should call these articles “IATFB Weekly Knowledge Drop + Talk About My Dick”. Cuz you always dropping knowledge on these fools.

    I have a good outline:

    1. Korean/Japanese/Chinese media does or says something stupid.

    2. IATFB responds, castigates first party.

    3. IATFB then apologizes for first party, offering an alternative reading.

    4. He then criticizes the second party, and proposes a two-pronged approach to the issue.

    5. He concludes with some sage words of wisdom, which may or may not include a reference to his penis.

You give a whole new meaning to “men think with their penis”. In this case, it isn’t that you use your penis to think, you’re thinking ALONGSIDE it as equals. Very egalitarian.

    I approve of this message.

  24. nana-ate-my-nana

Pretty sure this entire article was engineered as a subtle ‘my penis is more than 6 inches long’ thing by IATFB. :o

    • if you got it.

      flaunt it

    • I seriously just don’t know why anybody would brag about a six inch dong.

      • Exactly…
I think you’re absolutely right though. There is something obsessive with some [hetero] men and “penis.” It’s almost Freudian. There’s always some projection about their own self-worth, expressed in terms of sexuality: “That Chinese guy isn’t as good as me, because his dick is smaller,” or “that black guy may have a bigger dick, but I went to Harvard” (real-life conversations I’ve overheard btw).

I just don’t get it…because that shit about Asians having the smallest penises is not valid (TRUST me, I’ve done my field research).

Let me put it this way: I’m black, and several of my “love interests” have been Asian …NONE of those guys was smaller than me. Not because I purposefully go out searching for huge penis (that’s ridiculous lol. it’s not exactly like seeking huge beasts), just random chance.

Besides, even if we were going to pretend that it is true (which we do) then these idiots need to check twice, because Japan is CONSISTENTLY ranked above the US lmao.

*at least in all the “studies” I’ve seen….but the reliability and validity of these studies are a different subject entirely…

        • nana-ate-my-nana

It is true….lets be honest here. On average, asians have smaller dicks than whites. Whether or not you think thats a good or bad thing is up to you. Personally I think the penis defines the man….but there are asian dudes with massive hammers out there..

It sounds like you are one of those unfortunate black guys who bucks the stereotype :o

Ive never seen a study where japan is ranked higher than the US. and I’ve read pretty much all of them.

and yes, i am obsessed with cock. I’m happy to admit it

        • There’s no “stereotype” to buck. In my honest experience, there’s no such thing as “huge black dick.” It’s an urban myth, perpetuated in porn.

Statistically, it’s more likely that you either have positively or negatively skewed data by country (Some countries’ smalls are well below average, and some countries’ bigs are well above average.) But in general, there’s not much variation in penis size along ethnic groups. Or rather, there’s far MORE variation at the individual level than the aggregate level.

        • nana-ate-my-nana

Well there is a stereotype, its pretty much known by everyone :o whether or not its true is another matter..but the stereotype that black guys have big dicks is extremely well known.

I disagree with the rest of your post. Do you also believe that body type in general doesn’t vary between races? that asian chicks/doods aren’t, in general, physically smaller than white chicks/doods? Surely its logical that if a body frame is smaller, the average size of each part of that body will be smaller…No?

Asian chicks have smaller tits than white chicks because their frames are smaller. Asian dudes have smaller dicks for the same reason…

That makes sense to me anyway..but I’m not a scientist or doctor.

Ive seen an awful lot of dicks, both flaccid and erect and the stereotype of asian guys being smaller in general holds up in my experience.

        • Maybe I didn’t write what I was thinking clearly…

All I’m saying is that when you interpret the data in this manner, what we see as a relationship is actually just spurious: there’s something ELSE mediating the relationship of penis size and nationality/ethnicity. And from a logical perspective, yeah there IS variation along these lines; however, the variation at the individual level (of people WITHIN the same ethnic/national group as well as outside it) are FAR greater.

It also might be that we having differing opinions of “huge.” In my mind, I’m talking about the “black guys have 12″ cocks” myth. If we’re talking about larger-than-average, then yeah, I could begin to see some validity.

        • Way more dong details than I need to know.

          Rofl.

        • I haven’t seen enough erect cock to chime in. I hope nobody else has either.

And I’ve been in a lot of locker rooms.

          :o

        • Well….I’m gay so I’ve seen quite a few cocks…

        • nana-ate-my-nana

seen hundreds of amateur vids :o lots of erect cock.

        • Not really an accurate sample either when you consider the type of people who would make such videos and post them on the Internet.

      • On another note, is there really the perception that Koreans don’t “hook up?” That it’s just a foreign concept?

Because, tbh, I don’t think it’s JUST about foreigners. I remember seeing a video posted by a college student where a couple was hugging and kissing on a bus. People seemed to think the couple was outrageous for that…I think Korean society is just very uneasy about PDA and sex/sexuality in general.

        • nana-ate-my-nana

Koreans do hook up but its far rarer than in the west. One night stand type things are uncommon. Whereas in the west its huge.

but yeah, the pda is the biggie..anything more than a kiss on the cheek in public is gonna get you lots of disapproving looks.

        • I saw the same article.

It would be like “get a room” here, but hardly newsworthy.

  25. I’m working on a useless degree which will have very few employment opportunities here when I finish. Once I’m done I plan to go to Seoul to teach english, not to pay back debt (that will be an added bonus), but to experience living in a huge city and different culture.

lol at the guy talking up his 6″

    • nana-ate-my-nana

As an english teacher in seoul, you won’t really get to experience much of a different culture. Its pretty similar to most major western cities…

Unless you can speak korean of course. If you can’t, you will be stuck hanging out with other foreigners and the koreans who want to meet you to speak english..or the sluts who target foreign cock.

      • I spent 3 weeks in Japan early last year and I caught the ferry over to SK for 1 night in Busan and 3 in Seoul, the tsunami hit while I was in Seoul. It has its similarities to western cities, but it seemed a different culture to me. I plan to learn Korean because I don’t really want to be stuck with expats.
Poon tang is great, but I’m not really keen on banging sluts that chase me just because I’m white.

        • nana-ate-my-nana

everyone plans to :o 0.1% actually do learn korean.

if you are planning to go to korea, why wouldn’t you have started learning already?

    • That’s what everybody says though.

      :o

  26. because I’m too good at procrastinating :/
I’ve learnt some basic stuff and I pick up a bit with the k-tv I watch, but I do need to get serious about it.

  27. UnicornMassacre

lol they make americans look like evil diseased pigs!xP but idk what those women see in american men i would much rather date an asian guy, theyre wayyy smexxier!;) ha

  28. All this talk about dick and cunts is arousing, this is wonderful.

  29. white devil strikes again.. oh no!!!!

  30. ThatTealChick

    “She tested HIV positive”
    LOL.
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL. “Only when you sleep with a foreigner, you will become HIV positive.”

I also love how they say “victim of a foreigner” when those hoes chose to sleep with those men. Unless he held a gun to her head and said “sleep with me, or die” there is no good enough excuse for them.
Now, I’m not saying that this has never happened, but come on people. You can’t be that stupid.
At what point do these women taken responsibilities for grinding all up on the foreign dudes?
If you have the ability to throw yourselves all over the foreign men, then you also have the ability to say no to sex with them. Simple as that.
And another thing that I found hilarious is that, they’re making it out to be like this is only a problem with foreign men.
Smh. How many cases have I read about rape amongst their own kind? Too many to count and it’s definitely not a rare thing to hear about either.
What if someone decided to make a story on all of the sexual abuse that goes on in Korea?
It’d probably take a weekend to air the whole episode.
All I’m saying is, don’t expect someone to pity you when you’re just as guilty as the guy, and like I said before, unless he held a gun up to her head/threatened her in some other way, there is no good enough excuse to blame just the foreign men.

Btw, I wasn’t implying that all Korean women do is throw themselves at any foreign man that walks by. I guess I should have been more clear. I mean’t the ones that WERE throwing themselves at the foreign men.
Even still, if they’re not throwing themselves at them, fine. But (Once again) if there is no threat being targeted at them, then there is no valid excuse.
