To be honest, I had my doubts about She’z. Management is half the game in K-pop (probably more), and any production team that doesn’t have the good sense to realize that She’z is a godawful name for a girl group could also very well lack the managerial know-how to do other things.
Much to my delight though, I was proven wrong. This quartet has got it all – the looks, the vocals, and a catchy-ass debut song to boot.
The lead single, “My Way“, produced by GENTLEMAN, is an infectiously uplifting girl-power number that sasses without resorting to pointing guns at your face (ahem, Gang Kiz). With its guitar-led melody and pop-rock feel, “My Way”, in many regards, is the child of the last decade of pop, which isn’t a bad thing at all – think Avril Lavigne circa “Girlfriend” meets Kelly Clarkson (when she’s not singing about breakups).
Overall, part of the appeal of “My Way” lies in its simplicity – it’s a real palette-cleanser, with half of K-pop these days trying to sound either disco/retro (T-ara) or Europop (4minute) – not to mention the headache of having to deal with left-field dubstep breaks – it’s good to hear some nice, clean, and simple pop that can rock in the shower and on the radio.
Asian Junkie Asian pop. Without discretion.
How do you pronounce their name? I call her “She’s”
them*
Yeah, I think it’s pronounced She’s in English. But it’s spelled 쉬즈 in Korean, which = She-Ju.
lol like shisus, but better. nice korea
They’re the first girl group that i’ve heard where i can relate a face to a voice, and it’s refreshingly nice
oh im also digging the non-rap in this song
good singers and lack of obligatory rapping (esp done by someone who can’t rap) are a plus but the song is treading on the fine line between simplicity and redundance. It gets repetitive after the first minute or so
well they’re rookies from a noname company. they’re allowed to go with a basic concept, choreo and song.
i like it as well.
but if something like that came from sm,cube, pledis, dsp, ccm etc. i’m not sure whether i’d dig it.
they have really good vocals.
At first, the song sounded meh and bland to me, then I listen to it more, especially the chorus, I grew to like it. That khatoey looking chick (Seyeon?) has a nice body too.
I like it.
Better than any of the “comebacks” from established groups so far this year.
I LOVE THIS! 200+ plays!
Taeyeon is the best, good voice, looks like Hyeri mixed with Nana.
Which one is that?
The one that looks like Hyeri mixed with Nana…okay, the one with the long orange hair, second from the right in the first pic.
Ah, yeah. She has crazy eyes sometimes though.
I actually think she looks like Hara mixed with someone else :o
I will still make fun of soul eating girl and transsexual though.
I seriously hope this group goes far. They have the best song for a rookie group and real talent to back it up.
I like how this songs doesn’t have awkward rapping in it.
Plus I can tell the girls apart..lol first time for me. And finally each singer has more than three seconds to sing her lines and..and…and did I mention the ass slap was HOT!
Looking forward to seeing/hearing more from She’z =)
It sounds like a modern day spice girl.
Not really my style, but it’s nice.
Oh and I hate their name, just…..why.
I had to resist a very strong urge to take them down a star because of their name.
It’s awful
The song’s catchy and all. But yeah, none of them are hot.
