SCANDAL’s “Taiyou Scandalous” music video shows both quality and evolution

Girl band SCANDAL recently released the music video for their upcoming single, “Taiyou Scandalous“. It’s an enjoyable offering from the female Japanese pop rock band, and they’re a group that really deserves to sell more than they do.

I’m not writing a review on the music video, because despite enjoying it, there’s really nothing to say (it’s relatively standard fare).

Though I will add that their group concept is truly unique in the modern Asian pop scene, as I can’t think of another group in their specific genre, which makes whatever they do count as new ground. As such, it’s appropriate that “Taiyou Scandalous” represents an evolution in their style, as they have ditched the uniform concept and have begun to diversify themselves.

I’ve always liked their sound, as I feel that hearing real instruments gives the music a different quality that sets it apart from the artificial electronic shit we’re so accustomed to hearing in pop today. Needless to say, I’m a fan and I hope they continue to evolve, ideally gaining popularity along the way.

    • Yes.

Also, try not to post more than two links per comment, otherwise it gets moderated for spam even though it’s … well … not spam.

  2. Do they actually play those instruments?
If not, that’s something they should look into for the future.
I liked the song a lot, kind of sound like pop and SKA.

  3. What is up with Japanese music videos and Dailymotion. I bloody hate Dailymotion, it’s an abomination that loads at the speed of my dead ancestor.

Because most Japanese PVs get blocked from YouTube pretty quickly. I guess that isn’t the case on Dailymotion?

    • BECAUSE JAPAN FUCKING SUCKS

    • Copyright law

very few Jpop artists out of the thousand of artists there actually have their own channel
And even then, it’s either 1. short PV, 2. uploaded like 3, 4 months after the PV is release.
You can’t upload PVs up on YT either.

That’s kinda why AKB fans created vid48 site in the first place. other Jpop fans should do it. If you can’t beat the system, go around it and make our own stream site for jpop vids.

  4. I LOVE SCANDAL :D
