IU has a fat, digusting, pig body … because netizens say so

Before we go wrecking everybody, just a reminder that we are all technically “netizens”, but this story about IU‘s body has to be one of the most ridiculous “controversies” in a while.

An online community board recently uploaded a photo with the title, “The first shot of IU’s belly button.”

The photo is of IU performing at her first solo concert, ‘Real Fantasy’ in June. In the photo, IU is seen with her belly exposed, cute pigtails, a ribbon and short shorts that make her look just lovely.

Netizens who saw the photo commented, “Her stomach is chubbier than I thought it would be“, “I guess her body is not extremely thin“, and “IU’s first belly button exposure?”

1) Why the fuck would the media make a story about this? The only possible purpose is to infer that people think she’s fat. The comments themselves aren’t fucking terrible or anything, but the fact that the media choose to play this up is ridiculous to me. Like … what part of this would you think is a credible journalistic venture?

2) While not terrible, the comments are still bullshit. I mean, rather than being excited to see her body or whatever, the focus is instead on how she’s fatter than they thought. The fuck?

The standard is odd to me though because K-pop idols can have a “voluptuous” body if their schtick is to be sexy. However, if you’re supposed to be “innocent” or “pure”, then your weight (like miss A‘s Suzy) becomes a major issue unless you’re emaciated.
