The image that celebs show, in this context, is a REAL one..that girls body shape is extremely common in japan. Its the same with korean celebs. You might have a point if we were discussing western celebs because most western girls are fat. Most japanese/korean girls are slim.

Yes there are fat asian girls also. I’ve seen them and my brother had seen them. when he went overseas in the military. He was station in south korea and saw korean women of different sizes. He saw fat,slender,over weight and under weight. These women also exist in Japan. And I met military officers station in japan who express the same.
I’ve met asian women of different weight classes. Chinese,filipino,vietnamese and thai where I live. From slender to a healthy curvy shape. Yet regardless of their size are obsessed over skin tone and the scale. Its very sicking but this attitude is taught to women of all cultures.
Media will always say one thing but that is far from reality.
Just like I don’t suspect every asian men to look like Woobin,Takeshi Kaneshiro,Obagiri Joe, or Daniel Wu.
I’ve seen the east asian men of my city. Out and about and trust me they look nothing like the films,models and pop stars I’ve seen.

Second, no I do not bash every slender built asian women but nor do I bash more curvy or larger build women either. To which the other commenter continue to do.
Third the concerns of health issue is not something that can be superfically sum up. Americans waist bands is expanding because of the abundence of food we take for granted. But this will be the new health crisis issue among all nations who continue to advance in technology.

I found that video because it is very much like sexism in the west. Although asian culture has legally develope rules and regulation that often seems oppressive. For the west its social which and is equally as effective.
But take note the two commenter to who I. Am having a debate with are both Asian males. To both feel that westerns are larger and have a different standard of beauty. But to sum it all up. Both cultrues tress slender=beauty. But those appeals can be farther from the truth.
I never go by the media to understand a culture. Its what people, the civilians that make these ideas hold any truth. Those people in that video were everyday people. That express a sexist korean male vs a korean women who is sick and tired of cultrual tradition.

In my experience, when people say ‘curvy’ they generally mean fat or overweight. Its the current buzzword to describe overweight women in a favorable way.
If you give examples of someone in the celebrity world who you think is ‘curvy’ then I will see if thats the image I have.
I have no problem with fat girls. I just don’t find them attractive.
As for asian girls, the majority are not overweight. The majority are slim. At least in japan and korea they are. The girl in the article has a better body than most but she isn’t especially thin compared to the average.
