While there are a ton of things wrong with the scandal involving T-ara, Hwayoung, and Core Contents Media, one of them is NOT Boram using telekinesis to destroy an umbrella, which is apparently what she’s being accused of by netizens.
A photo of T-ara member Boram breaking fellow member Hwayoung‘s umbrella was recently revealed online. On the 29th, a photo was posted on an online community site titled “Boram ruining Hwayoung’s umbrella“.
The photograph was captured at the MBC ‘Idol Star Athletics & Swimming Competition‘, and states that Boram wrecked her fellow group members’ umbrella.
Sounds bad, right? Well, here’s what the media provided as evidence:

People are just making shit up to make shit up, seriously. How in the fuck is that evidence that Boram did anything to Hwayoung or an umbrella?
The Korean police should take this opportunity to dump any unsolved crimes on T-ara because it’s clear that netizens have lost their goddamn minds and will believe anything at this point.

Bullying isn’t something to joke about, but there’s still a certain hilarity in the way people are approaching this scandal. Shit like the story above is exactly why I wrote my piece about confirmation bias, because people are now going to come up with all this ridiculous shit that probably doesn’t even correlate to the scandal at all.
Netizens have already supposedly found a bunch of incidents of bullying within T-ara, are jumping to conclusions about specific involvement and trying to ruin careers, and are finding anonymous letters online and connecting them to this scandal based on nothing.
It’s like they are trying to reverse engineer shit but are missing a ton of parts … and a brain … and logic.

Here’s another link. Even though you can’t see her breaking the umbrella, you can totally point out the fact that Boram pushed her with the umbrella handle. It wasn’t by accident either.

Funny that no one seemed to notice that Infinite member hitting his hyung’s head in the Infinite fancam that shows the “incident”. But of course, oppar was just playing. ROFL
And I don’t like Boram, so I couldn’t care less if she did it.

Yeah, i agree. But whether it’s telekinesis or magnetokinesis, she still could have bent(brake) the umbrella’s frame. So it’s not that big of deal. Not everyone has grown up reading comic books. Like me and you apparently :D
This is the funnest controversy I’ve seen in a loong time. It’s a win-win situation. They die from lack of popularity, I didn’t like their music anyways. They somehow trudge on, nobody casts them and I don’t hear their music anyways. God I love this.

Yeah that’s why I can’t really conclude the whole bullying thing since well… this whole twitter crap and whatever makes no sense. IRL associates getting into fights/bickering/misunderstandings on social networks… -____- I still personally think the CEO guy just purposely trolling the crap outta everything. But his press release kinda relates to that whole changing members whatever BS thing he said a while back about making sure members don’t get ahead of themselves. Maybe he was trying to find some way to kick out that girl and it just kinda backfired a bit because he sounds illogical. But I dunno.. all my speculation since anything’s possible in this cluster-mess.
Anywho… actually Jean Grey came up in my mind instead when I first heard of this lol.
At the moment I have little to no doubt that Eunjung and Boram were involved in the bullying — the only one I’m giving BOTD to is Qri.

If you look closely you can see two red arrows coming from Boram’s eyes destroying Hwayoung’s umbrella.

When I first saw those pics, I thought Boram was supposed to be one of the two people with red arrows pointing away from them.
After looking at the video, I see that she is actually the one in yellow (you can only see her shoulder) standing directly behind of Hwayoung, holding her full umbrella above Hwayoung’s broken one.
The netizens are saying she bashed her own umbrella down onto Hwayoung’s to break it. In the video, though, it’s obviously not true. Hwayoung’s umbrella was broken before Boram arrived.
I find most of the accusations flying around pretty hard to believe. I don’t doubt that there are some catty females in the group, but I’m sure the truth of this situation is a lot less dramatic and interesting than what the antifans are fantasizing about.

X-Men is my favorite superhero group. I am also very partial to Doctor Strange and the Punisher.
I’m actually pretty DC biased, but I love x-men. Spiderman is cool too, but I’ve never been THAT big of a fan of him. I think that V for Vendetta is marvel too (???), and that’s an awesome story, better as a movie though because Natalie Portman isn’t a bimbo
A friend wanted me to get into the punisher, I just haven’t gotten into it yet. I haven’t been keeping up with comics as much as I used to because of shit like this going on in kpop
DC? I loved the original Watchmen series. I’m currently into the Before Watchmen fiasco, and it’s pretty good so far.
Maybe it’s because I’m at times an emotional girl, but watchman made me kinda sad so I pretty much never looked at it more than once. I am curious about the whole “before” thing though. Is it pretty much about the first few superheroes?
Sort of. There are several mini-series that fall under the Before Watchmen umbrella. They tell the origins of the Minutemen (the “first” group) and the current Watchmen. So far, there’s Silk Spectre II, Ozymandias, Nite Owl, and Comedian. I would recommend it.
Also, if you’re into indie non-superhero comics, I would recommend Green Wake. Amazing comic that unfortunately got cancelled after ten issues. It wraps up nicely, nevertheless.

It’s all camera angles. You can literally see the part of the umbrella already broken before she touches anything. All Hwayoung did was rotate it.
