2PM‘s Nichkhun was driving drunk the other day when he struck a motorcyclist, allegedly resulting in the victim being taken to the hospital. The incident resulted in JYP Entertainment apologizing for their artist and also a ton of speculation and bullshit from fans.
Well, in a follow-up to those events, SBS has obtained CCTV footage of the accident and has confirmed that the motorcyclist was taken to the hospital.
The footage shows the motorcyclist riding through the street, when he is hit by Nichkhun’s vehicle while going through an intersection. The reporter explains that the motorcyclist, who had been injured, was escorted by the fire fighters on the scene to the hospital.
The news segment also contains an audio clip from the motorcyclist who says that he has suffered injuries on his shoulder, leg(s), and ear(s).
I don’t know of a better way to put this, but oppar just fucking ran some guy down with his car.
This is even worse than I initially thought, because they initially described it as if Nichkhun just bumped the guy from the back or something.
Unfortunately, as you can clearly see in the video/GIF, the impact was far more significant and at speeds that easily could have been lethal. Quite frankly, this outcome was fortunate for everybody involved.

By the way, I still see people defending Nichkhun even after seeing the video (the “he’s not really hurt” and “it was minor” excuses have stopped for some MYSTERIOUS reason), which is fucking weird to me.
If the media’s reporting is accurate, and that’s the road Nichkhun was barreling down, then he was absolutely at fault and it becomes more likely that the reason he didn’t know what he was doing was because he was drunk. Nobody coming out of a side street like that has the right of way, it’s akin to saying that the cars getting onto a freeway can just merge into whatever lane they want without looking.
Not only does this video confirm that he was at fault, it makes it look even worse for him.

Understandably, Caribbean Bay has edited Nichkhun out of their advertisements in response to the controversy.
I say “understandably” because I’m sure a family water park doesn’t want to change their slogan to something like, “Family fun in the water … just make sure one of the faces of our park doesn’t run you down with his car on the way over!“
Oh really? To me it looks like he did indeed hit the rear end of his motorcycle, knocking him the fuck down.
Or maybe it’s just too blurry to me, feel like the motorcycle went past the car just a bit.

Plus, there’s going up b/w people trying to defend and those trying to see logic in the matter because is alleged apology wasn’t sincere enough, which I, for one, agree.

That asshole ought to get more of a punishment for that than a suspended license. Nichkhun is lucky that the poor guy didn’t get killed, or that there were more people, children…
I feel so freaking sorry for the guy. He’s gonna miss work, have bills to pay, and what if he has a family to support? But because he was hit by princess unibrow, the princess will be considered the victim.

I really like 2pm but I don’t feel bad for Nichkhun either. He did a foolish thing and he’s going to have to face the consequences like anyone else. I don’t think it should ruin his life or career though, as I would sincerely hope he’s had enough of a public shaming to never do anything like this again. He should definitely keep his head down for a while though.
Bad driving really pisses me off. I keep getting cut up by people who are driving whilst on their phones and I swear if I was an off-duty cop ALL I would do was drive around catching those guys who think that the law doesn’t apply to them.
I actually have a theory that all the idols that are portrayed as angels are actually knobs and bitches, and all the ones we think are are twats and sluts (ie, the rest of 2pm, half of SJ) are probably stand up guys and gals. I know that Shindong and Leeteuk can’t keep their mouths shut but I find that preferable to the ones who are just pretending to be nice.

I don’t know how to translate my frustration. This is part of the reason why I don’t drive because fear that shit like this will happen.
Some saying “Well the cyclist didn’t stop! There’s a crosswalk there!” I know going by the US, if there’s no pedestrian and/or stop sign/red light… you don’t need to stop and I know the people saying the “should’ve stopped!” aren’t even basing that in perspective of the Korean law… (they just wanna blame the cyclist)
Then some people downgrading the amount of alcohol that supposedly wasn’t that affective to Nickhun, based on comparing the BAC of Korea and the US. “It was only 2 beers!!!!” Two beers that obviously impaired him… like… duh? Seriously, if you feel a bit buzzed anyway why still drive? It doesn’t matter if YOU feel like you still can, a sober person can make small mistakes too (tail lights out, didn’t completely stop at a sign, no turn signal on when turning, just going a teeny bit over the limit) So why risk it anyway if you screw up over something small, end up getting that anal cop who’s hidden somewhere and decides to pull you over? It’s like someone driving without their license (wheter htey lost it due to the court,misplaced it, or left it at home) People get more nervous to still drive around when they knowingly don’t have it. It seriously isn’t something to just be shrug whatever with like illegal downloading. I remember every time my mom drunk a bit buzzed, I was scared for my life (I was like in 6th grade) I can’t do crap about the situation either… and she actually had lost her license for a while because she was drinking/driving (and other crap in our family followed that really screwed us over and events one after another.) Or when my dad decided to literally drink and drive (this negro had a the bottle hidden between his legs and took a drink every once in a while) and he was pulled over some other time because of illegal plates between States (PA plate thing but NJ license something something BS crap) Now have he actually been drinking then too… *shakes head* (he’s a total idiot) I dunno, I guess in my State and area, people really shouldn’t underestimate what cops may/may not do. (cops pulled over my mom’s current husband because they ran the plate and they found my dad’s name and thought it was him or something) It’s seriously not worth the risk (sorry for the long comment ^^;)

yea, no one is perfect, everyone makes mistakes, but everyone also needs to face the consequences. We’re not expecting too much from this guy, he just needs to stop being a coward, come out of his cave, apologize sincerely and face the full consequences of the law. I don’t think that’s too much to ask from anyone who has broken the law. Problem is, he’s getting special treatment and even has the nerve to make up stupid excuses for himself. All of these things, plus the video footages and original news reports are more than ‘rumours’; they are sufficient for anyone to make their own rational judgements about him.

I call BS on the whole thing and until something comes out from a Korean source… like in what way was there even an indication the cyclist was trying to turn? That video clearly shows the car hitting him. And so now seem to have ‘hope.’ And even if this were all true.. GUESS WHAT!? He still got caught drinking/driving! (and I just realized I’ve been spelling this dude’s name wrong all this time lol) But like the Daesung case, people trying to find *something* to make oppar less guilty or not ‘completely at fault.’ God forbids if he ever had to shoulder such a thing because he’s “Thailand’s Prince.” It was disgusting when people were ‘happy’ to know the cyclist in Daesung’s case was drinking/driving and possibly already dead. That was no “minor” accident. Nichkhun PLOWED into that dude and yes, that could’ve been the end of that dude’s life right then and there.
And the Hottests that are crying and up in arms about Nichkhun being edited out of commercials and variety shows and whatnot disgust me to no end. This is a man’s LIFE that could’ve been lost and they’re worried about their precious oppar’s image.
Where were they when Block B got restricted from music shows and pretty much had to end promotions early because of their controversy? Most of them said that it was appropriate. Well, Block B didn’t run a guy over and nearly kill him.
I can’t even begin at how they’re just sugarcoating everything, from being “only a little drunk” or “only being a LITTLE over the blood alcohol level” or that it was a “minor accident” or, the funniest of all, “he made a mistake! If the motorcyclist were one second faster, he’d possibly be dead. And it’s worth thinking that at 0.05 blood alcohol level, it may or may not have been a factor in this accident.
