Personally I don’t like the fact idol music is identified with pop music in general and referred to as jpop/kpop. When I’m not lazy I always make a distinction.
I encountered a couple of times how falsely limiting jpop/kpop to idol music lead people generalize the pop music culture of Korea and Japan. It’s a shame because both countries have a lot of very noteworthy acts outside the idol industry who don’t get any global recognition at all because people assume pop music in Asia equals idol music. :/
I love the soundscape here. This track has a certain air of melancholy and hopefulness to it at once. It sounds comforting, like something to listen to on a solitary walk home after a shitty day.

Ever since M-flo square one came out, I have been obsessed with CREAM. Minami, why are you such a goddess!!! Awesome voice and great style :P Staxx’s rapping sounds different to other japanese rappers for me. He sounds unique with his flow.

The guy seem rather dark skin for someone who is Japanese in the media. So use to that milky white skin obsession. Its kinda refreshing to see a more brown skin Asian verse one that uses white out a make up foundation. I’m like one shade darker than him.

Black hip hop culture is a trend amoung young japanese kids. I think its kinda cool but wonder if they can see blacks more than trendy. Respect on a deeper level.

I think they upload their songs directly to YouTube and get money from the ad revenue. I’ve yet to see them sell a single or an album in either physical or digital format.
