If you hadn’t heard by now, the latest chapter in the T-ara bullying saga is member Soyeon giving an interview to the Chosun Ilbo, speaking about the Hwayoung situation and the bullying accusations, then promptly getting into a serious car accident that led to her hospitalization.
The reaction was sadly predictable, with gobs of people crying out “karma”, which only reminded me: 1) how ridiculous people are and 2 ) how much I hate the concept of and belief in karma.
Q: Let’s get straight to the point. Was there a ‘bully’?
A: I also saw the ‘evidence’ the netizens uploaded online. I did think that if that was all they saw, the ‘bullying’ point of view could have made sense. It is true that there were negative feelings towards Hwayoung during our Tokyo concert. When Hwayoung claimed she couldn’t perform because of her leg, and when she was at the beauty shop by herself when we were practicing, there was a fight between the members. Following the performance, we told the President to handle this for us. Starting from that point, many things happened and we didn’t know that it would lead to Hwayoung’s departure.
Q: Are you saying that the members did not want Hwayoung to leave the group?
A: Not at all. We all learned about this through the articles. We were angry at our company. All we said was there was a point of conflict, so we asked them to find a solution. If Hwayoung leaves like this, the blame goes to all of us. But our President told us, “let’s do it like this for Hwayoung’s sake”. We felt very torn.
Q: The other members never left out Hwayoung? Is it true that there were rifts in your relationships?
A: There are 7-8 teenage girls in their ‘teens and twenties, all staying together. Everyone want to be famous and become recognized, so it’s impossible to have no conflicts at all. Every day, members fight and apologize, stay together and separate. It was a similar situation with Hwayoung. If you’re asking if we had bad relationships because of that, then everyone in our group has bad relationships.
I didn’t write about this because I didn’t think it would be a story. It seems plausible enough and it’s all public relations at this point anyway.
Essentially, I didn’t think it was a big deal and it certainly wasn’t something you would say she deserves to be hospitalized for…
…but that’s exactly the reaction that came after Soyeon was involved in a serious car accident.
While traveling down to Busan on August 13th at approximately 7:00 AM for the shooting of her drama ‘Haeundae Lovers‘, her vehicle slipped on the rainy road and hit the guard rail twice before flipping on its side.
Other than Soyeon, two stylists were passengers in the vehicle. All passengers were taken to the emergency room and underwent CT and X-ray scans.
“Due to the sudden rain, the car must have slipped. The managers are now hurrying to the scene of the incident,” said a representative for Core Contents Media. “Since the car has flipped over, this incident seems bigger than we anticipated. The 119 response team responded at the scene and transported everyone to the emergency room.”
“Thankfully, Soyeon seems to have suffered no big injuries on the outside. But since this is an accident first of all, her filming schedule for today has been cancelled and will undergo a full test,” the agency concluded.
Thankfully, there were no serious injuries, but she is all fucked up.
In the photos that StarNews was able to obtain, Soyeon was hospitalized with a brace around her neck, and reportedly appeared to be in a lot of pain.
Her agency added, “There are no major external injuries, however, she is in a lot of shock, and has been since the accident. She has been experiencing pain in her neck, shoulders, and back. For now, we have decided to cancel the ‘Haeundae Lovers‘ shoot she has today, and whether or not she will attend future shoots will be decided with the staff members after observing her condition, however, Soyeon is displaying great determination and ambition for this project.”

As I said earlier, none of this stopped people from jumping for joy at the sight of Soyeon injured.

It’s hilarious because by their own shitty logic karma will come back to get them for celebrating the serious injury of somebody else.
Besides that though, I really really really hate people bringing up karma for any reason nowadays.

1) It’s bullshit superstition.
No rational person can believe the world works this way. People don’t get what they deserve. You don’t need statistics to back that up, just go around and live life. Assholes live fucking forever and innocent kids starve to death*.
*If I die soon after writing this post, some asshole is gonna say, “LOL KARMA”. If that happens, then I hope there’s an afterlife so I can become a ghost and give them death by explosive diarrhea.
2) It’s been twisted into something used to wish ill on others.
Like most things in religion, it’s supposed to be something to control the believers. As in, it’s supposed to make you do good in the world out of fear of getting absolutely shafted in this life or the next.
Somehow though, karma has become the go-to word when something bad happens to somebody you don’t like. Basically, it’s become a way to express to everybody what a piece of shit you are, but you get to hide behind some bullshit religious concept to take the edge off.
Laughing at natural disasters, wars, and human suffering is not what karma was meant to be used for, so grow some balls if you’re gonna be a dick.
3) Even using it in a positive way is pretentious as shit.
The fact that you would only do good in the world because you believe it will come back and reward you is pretentious as hell.
How about just being a nice person? Fuck.
—–
In conclusion, stop citing karma every time you want to be a horrific human being because it makes no logical sense to do so by your OWN GODDAMN LOGIC. It’s a mind-numbingly stupid belief to begin with, plus you make everybody dumber for using it as an excuse to hide the fact that you’re a piece of shit.
Asian Junkie Asian pop. Without discretion.
Wait the netizens are saying the accident is a fake?
http://netizenbuzz.blogspot.com/2012/08/netizens-dig-to-find-truth-behind.html
They think it might be fake because the car look way too damaged but Soyeon didn’t get injured
Others buy into the accident but think her neck brace is fake.
Either way most people are suspicious
Yes, lol.
its going beyond bullying
http://www.allkpop.com/2012/08/rumor-news-of-soyeons-accident-was-reported-before-collision-took-place
Humans are stupid but I can’t fully blame netizens, CCM made itself quite famous with lies lately so basically everything T-ara does or says will be considered suspicious.
T-ara has landed in the position of Hyuna, everything they do will be criticized because it’s them doing it.
T-ara is fucked all they can do is allow dani debut with the group. That jail bait will be the final knife in the coffin
Personal I like hyuna’s flat ass. People hate to hard
Well as for the “planned” accusation, they found out it was a timestamp error & about 30 articles released by that writer said 12:06.
It doesn’t matter fans still want soyeon head on a sliver plate
Yea it is so ridiculous.
I still don’t know whether it’s Ha-eun-dae Lovers or Hae-un-dae…Romanization is a bitch too ( and I don’t care enough to go look up the original hangul script or what the title even means )…
IATFB, I worry about you sometimes. As the head of AJ, I understand that you publish these articles to shine a light on the negative aspects of k-poppers. But jeez, having to research and compile the cases of dumbfuck, spite-filled teenage girls cannot be healthy.
Keep fightin’ the good fight though, buddy.
That was kinda mean
How?
Lol I get the point. Mad respect to IATFB cause I definitely couldn’t surf around AKP with those insane fangirl comments without going insane myself.
Well, what do you expect him to do? And it’s not like he’s being paid to do this….
Stuff found on anti kpop fangirl is just unreal
This shit is baby stuff
Some serious fucked up fangirls out there
Yeah. Sadly I’ve seen some of the comments on there. Very disturbing!
One aspect of kpop I couldn’t get into
Fans can turn so hostile and scary obsessive
Its like they have nothing else to do but torment yet they don’t see it that way
Hahaha.
Lots of people worry about me, so you’re not alone.
:-x
Out of everything I heard during this whole mess that interview she gave made the most sense.
Triple boner is here to steal your virginity.
I just watch a porno with Lavish Styles
I don’t think you know who she is but if you do she is becoming my porno bias
Anywoo I swear the dude blurp “I just let out a small fart” before getting his dick blown
Fuck up things said in pornos
Porn dialogues are the best. I wonder what one has to do to become a writer for porn. And no, didn’t know Lavish Styles until now – but I love sick shit.
I have to say, No_Min, I was relatively normal before you. Now, whenever I close my eyes, I always see penises or boobayz. Sometimes both at once
I just thought that it would make you happy to know that
http://washburnnicole.files.wordpress.com/2011/03/tumblr_lhryn61tco1qa7ha5.gif
I cried tears made of joy… and grease from the fried chicken i had.
I love you, friend.
I was looking for ya, our trampmin strikes again
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIEXoPMkeN0&feature=player_embedded
I like him more with a penis and pair of balls. But you must admit he is a pretty hot bitch as well.
He would be the star in one of the blowjob bars in Bangkok.
What Soyeon said in that interview was probably the most honest response I’ve heard from this controversy.
And damn, some netizens can be so stupid! They’ve gone beyond bullying. Wishing death on someone is sick.
The karma argument is just like the modern “you will go to hell, heretic monster!!”
I guess believing this somehow brings joy and relief to people, and at the same time allows them to get all super-judgemental and make rude or stupid ass comments.
I find it hard to deal with these bitches without having some of them telling me that they are allowed to believe whatever they want (which is true, tho). Anyways, using their logic, karma will hit them too for posting this crap. I hope they know it.
Everything you said about karma.. is exactly how I feel. And it just makes all those modern karma-believers a bunch of hypocrites (as usual) because um… I’m sure it’s easy for them to scream “karma!” when something effed up happens to someone else… but I doubt it makes them do any good (obviously not if they make fun of a person receiving ‘bad karma’) and I’m sure they do messed up things all the time to other people and don’t give one crap.
Excellent post. Agree 100% with everything you said.
Unfortunately you can’t use logic to explain to a stupid person why they’re stupid. Their brain can’t process it.
Regarding the Soyeon interview, though – I don’t like the way she answered the questions. Made her seem more guilty than innocent to me.
If I was falsely accused of bullying someone and a person asked me, “Are you a bully?”, my answer would be “No!” — not “Well, I could see how people might think that….blah blah..”
Also, her answer to the second question makes it sound like they DID want Hwayoung to leave, they just didn’t want her fired in the wake of the tweet scandal because it would make them look bad.
“…We felt very torn…” Torn between what? Between wanting Hwayoung fired and not wanting to be blamed for it afterwards?
Because they probably are guilty to an extent.
Dunno, that’s what I think anyway.
Yeah, I think so, too.
But it seems to me that if you’re guilty of something and everybody pretty much assumes you’re guilty anyways, you’re better off coming clean and apologizing rather than trying to dance around the issue.
The MLB steroids scandal is a good example of this principle.
The guys who admitted they took steroids were quickly forgiven – or at least forgotten, anyways. Many of them resumed their careers without much fuss.
The ones that continued to deny that they took steroids were crucified.
What ruins these “fans” argument about karma is that Soyeon wasn’t the only person in the car. Did the other passengers deserve this as well?
COLLATERAL DAMAGE IN OUR UNENDING QUEST FOR VENGEANCE
Jesus fucking christ. I hate the increasing usage of this word. I’m hindu, and these idiots seem to have no concept of what karma actually is.
My fucking god.
Karma doesn’t affect what happens to you NOW, it affects you in the next life. So if overall, you lead a good life, your NEXT life should be good as well. If you are a shitty person for MOST of your life, then your karma is bad and in your next life you go to a lower caste and your next life is filled with suffering.
Dumbasses.
Anyway, soyeon’s interview seemed pretty reliable.
Or at least, the most reliable thing out of all the shit we’ve heard.
wow,are you (Asia)Indians or Balinese?
I’m Indian.
I hope you’re aware that people have different beliefs.
I am aware of that. However, karma is essentially a hindu concept and it has a defined meaning.
People tend to not fully grasp that meaning, and they do not use the word properly.
I know this has nothing to do with the point of the article, but I can’t help but feel angry at that driver. That the car was carrying so much speed when it lost traction that it flipped after hitting the guard rail means the driver most certainly was not driving at a safe and reasonable speed. I’ve spun out in the rain once many years ago, but I was blasting down a freeway onramp in a rear-biased RWD car with old tires. A recipe for disaster. Why did CCM entrust three innocent lives to such a reckless and irresponsible fool?
So sick of this mess. T-ARA is just a bunch of naive young women in a competitive and oversaturated industry. And KKS is a giant piece of crap. Don’t support his company. The end.
Driver oppar didn’t mean it so leave him alone!!
You are just a jeluz potato fly!! >:(
I loled. Thank you.
I can’t really talk shit since I speed. I think everybody speeds though. :o
Poor Soyeon…
Anyway,Happy Indonesia Independence Day!! ^^
She should become the spoke person of CCM and lock the CEO in the basement.
I never knew how insufferable I was as an internet atheist.
?
Her story is definitely more trustworthy than the crap that KKS shat out and decided to serve to the Kpop world
When is this nonsense going to be over?
Honestly? Never. Years maybe. :o
Off topic:
I found this asian guy using jedi pick up lines
You can’t go wrong with star wars
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=coAu2LV0OyI&feature=youtube_gdata_player
“ARE YOU THE ASIAN JESUS?!?!??!!”
This song plays in my head every time I read more T-error news:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUTvVTKS6JI
ERMAHGERD that song
I wish that they would show something else for the video…. The over-saturated New York scenes werent all too fun to look at
But yeah, I feel like she’s telling the truth. It makes sense, she’s admitting that they weren’t all lovey dovey (pun wasn’t intended at first, but I thought “WHAT THE HERRRR- IMMA USE IT FOR A PUN”) and got jealous and fought, and that it was just that everything got out of control because of that idiot KKS.
I think of this song when it comes to the netizens

Okay, the whole “karma believers” thing, I hope is more so directed towards this situation and the hypocritical fans than it is, say, directed towards someone like me, who is Buddhist (Nichiren). I mean, technically, every religion is set up that way…people’s main goal is to “play nice” so that they may be rewarded later right (right Christians, Muslims, Jews, etc?). I mean if that’s the case, then everyone who believed in a religion would be pretentious to some degree (and who knows, probably are). Point is, throwing mud at the word Karma and so called karma believers is a bit much, smh. If anything, I would say it’s not so much the whole karma thing, as it is people who justify their delight at people’s suffering because they think it was deserved. I mean, dont get me wrong, if someone like Sandusky was to get his asshole ripped apart in jail, my first thought wouldn’t be “oh poor thing” (horrible right, as a Buddhist, lol) but in a situation like this, it’s uncalled for, especially since nothing has been proved, no crime has been committed. Fans need to lay off, but really, what do expect from thousands of delusional tweens/ teens? Maturity? Logic? Haha, that would be too much like right my friends.
In my opinion, religion is built on being pretentious to a degree, yes.
Fuck that was long…sorry
This is almost as bad as those psycho people who say that God /told/ them to murder others. Wtf?
Karma is more of a cause-and-effect concept than a you-get-what’s-coming-to-you-bitch thing. And a person’s karma is really nobody else’s business, as there is probably no one on the planet who knows and understands your circumstances better than yourself.
In other words, fangirls are dumb. Harping about a concept that is far more complicated than they think.
“How people treat you is their karma; how you react is yours.”
wow some people are disgusting
Ohforshow…I agree with u completely
yeah it’s when people go extreme with it and making it into a context in which they twisted it to be is the bothersome part. All them fans screaming karma for this situation.. I don’t think they really believe in it, but using it as an insult kinda thing. It can be almost like saying, “God wanted her to get into that accident for what she’s been doing!!!”
KARMA IS LOOKING AT U SOOOOOON
=)
I don’t care for t-ara as of now but I don’t feel the need to wish bad on them because that’s just morally wrong to me. Those people should be ashamed of themselves for doing so.
two antis response:
- karma
- pity play
both are horrible, but at least the second one sounds more plausible. who knows if kks is behind all this stuff… i mean, he could be behind everything that happen in this world. every. single. thing.
