Award-winning actress Jeon Do Yeon revealed on MBC‘s “Guest House” that her mom cried after watching the film “Happy End” because she got naked and showed her mams.
She discussed her nude scene in the movie ‘Happy End’, sharing the difficulties she experienced after it. Jeon Do Yeon stated, “After the nude scene was filmed for ‘Happy End’, I experienced some emotional trauma. Articles were written as if those nudes scenes mirrored my personal life. When I told my mother that I had to show some skin in the movie I was filming, she asked me if my breasts would be exposed and I told her yes. She then started crying.”
Yeah, now she’s only a multiple award winning actress and became the first Korean to ever win an acting award at Cannes Film Festival. All of that partially due to her willingness in accepting mature roles like this that involve mature thematic material.
BUT HEY, KEEPING YOUR PUBLIC IMAGE VIRGINAL IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN BEING A TRAILBLAZER FOR ALL KOREANS! AMIRITE?!
Korean media rules though, seriously.
“She played a character in a movie, let’s write speculative articles about whether she’s an adulterous whore in real life, you guys! Fuckin’ jounralism!”
Hey, maybe she’s actually a prostitue with AIDS like in “You’re My Sunshine” too. Where’s the investigation?!
The actress went on to say, “As my mother was crying, I told her that she didn’t raise me as an actress so I can marry well.”
I was going to make fun of this statement here, but then I saw this picture:
Okay, maybe he’s a rich businessman or whatever, but obviously her mom was right about not marrying well since he’s wearing Ed Hardy.
Seriously though, I’m not even LOLing at her mom as much as I am at the notion that she has to feel ashamed of her actress daughter getting naked because then people will somehow think that means her daughter’s a whore and she was raised wrong.
That’s like not even slut shaming, it’s like … career shaming or something.
