Those Tajinyo idiots are going to prison for harassing Tablo, good riddance

I realize I’m late on this, but I had to post the news to exhibit my glee over this group of assholes (Tajinyo) getting jail time for harassing Tablo to ridiculous lengths.

Back in July, the members of an internet cafe that slandered Tablo with the title Tajinyo, or ‘We demand the truth from Tablo‘ requested for an appeal and the appeals have been rejected.

On October 10th, the Seoul District Court held their verdict and sentenced 8 Tajinyo members. “Mr. Lee” and two others will serve 10 months in jail while “Mr. Song” and five others will serve 2 years of probation. If they violate the terms of probation, they will serve 8-10 months in jail.

“Ms. Park” was the only one to receive a reduced sentence. She was originally sentenced to 10 months of jail time in the first trial. However, her atopic dermatitis (skin condition) and other factors made her jail stay complicated, so her sentenced was changed to a 2 year probation and 200 hours of community service. If she violates the terms of the probation, she faces the possibility of being sentenced to 2 years maximum in prison.

And this is why I can’t help but laugh when netizens get all uppity about bullying.

Mirror first.

  1. Finally some justice

  2. If anyone is not familiar with what happened to Tablo, there is an in-depth article here:

    http://www.wired.com/underwire/2012/04/ff_koreanrapper/all/

    • Shit made me want to cry back in 2010, still makes want to cry now :’(
I seriously do not understand how or why people do that kind of crap

      • Felt the same way. And honestly before that I didn’t really pay much attention to kpop, after the whole Tablo thing it made me realize both how batshit people can be and the sick relationship the media there has with said batshit people.

    • Thanks for the article. I wasn’t aware how serious this issue was.

And you don’t need an enemy if you have such a nice cousin. LOL. This needs to be made into a movie or drama.

  3. HAHA MOTHERFUCKERS. Korean Justice system doesn’t fail completely anymore.

Did you hear about the President’s brother running away? lolololol. Lee has so much corruption in his administration.

  4. milkywhituskinned

    Didn’t they apologize?

    • Apologies are only acceptable when relevant people, like oppar and unnir make them…. All else, we don’t care!!! They’re not humans like oppa-unni!

  5. Soon after the birth, he saw a chilling tweet that referenced his Twitter handle and threatened him if he stayed in Korea. When he took his newborn to the hospital for a routine checkup, he saw people looking at him coldly and he panicked. “I didn’t know if the doctor putting needles in my baby was one of those people

^^ This is fucking terrifying. Netizens kill me, they organize suicide petitions but get all bent out of shape when a couple of hot girls push eachother around. My diagnosis: jealousy the whole lot of them

  6. Jesus fucking Christ, that article Mcf posted was insane. Who has that much time to invest in making someone else’s life miserable? and ppl try to say that k-pop netziens aren’t the worst…

  7. Good fucking riddance, indeed
And I hope these MFs are prohibited the Internet for a few years, at least

  8. They should’ve been sentenced for longer.

  9. “If you wanna make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make a change.”

  10. I’m happy. They really pissed me off, and they’re sorry they got caught, not for what they did.

  11. Mmm I do not agree with this sentence. The South Korean Constitution allegedly protects freedom of speech, Article 21: http://www.servat.unibe.ch/icl/ks00000_.html

A key point is this clause: “(4) Neither speech nor the press may violate the honor or rights of other persons nor undermine public morals or social ethics. Should speech or the press violate the honor or rights of other persons, claims may be made for the damage resulting therefrom.”

I don’t think this necessarily implies criminal penalties for speech that violates the rights or honor of others, but I’m not a South Korean lawyer. That being said, I don’t agree with defamation carrying criminal penalties.

These people should have gotten their balls sued off and forced to pay significant damages, but jail time? If it was the people who made death threats, then that’s fine, but from how they reported this, it sounded like only the ringleaders were being prosecuted.

Anyway, now they know you don’t fuck around in Korea. If you’re gonna defame someone, make sure it’s true first.

    • I’m no expert of Korean law either, but it’s my understanding that they don’t treat free speech quite like the US does. Hell, it was in the lifetime of the majority of living adults that they actually had a revolution to get the whole democracy thing. Things work quite different.

Defamation and hate speech are not protected forms of free speech in most of the western (apart from the US) world either. They are criminal acts, but to prove intent in defamation cases is INCREDIBLY difficult, to the point that someone pretty much has to stand up and say “yes, I criminally defamed this other person. Put me in jail please.” That’s why they’re so rare. And why I’m boggling at how 8 people got convicted of this.

      • This has nothing to do with government protected freedom of speech.

If you go around harassing people, threatening people, and stalking people, you can and will be charged with crimes. Pretty sure that’s not legal anywhere.

This went far beyond a group of people talking shit about a dude in a chat room.

    • Dude, even in America, stalking/harassment/threats are not legal.

Freedom of speech means the government can’t come arrest you for writing shit, not that you can go around stalking people and sending them threats.

      What?

      • Yeah, so why are only eight members being sentenced?

The case was about defamation, not necessarily harassment or stalking. I totally disagree with defamation being a crime, but it’s Korea so what can I say. That being said, I don’t like how people are “celebrating” these fools being locked up.

They did some stupid shit to be sure, but that’s why you have damages. Force them to pay for lying and inflicting emotional distress. Don’t jail them, that will accomplish nothing. These people almost ruined Tablo’s career, they should pay up accordingly.

Freedom of speech also means you can say a lot of things to other individuals without fear of being prosecuted for it, see: Snyder v. Phelps, etc.

I don’t think what they did was right. They should pay, but in the right way: with cash. Mainly it annoys me people are so thrilled a bunch of dudes got locked up for saying something, especially since Tablo was not PHYSICALLY hurt.

But it’s me. I believe firmly in free speech and the proper application tort law, not criminal prosecution. It isn’t my place to tell Korea how to run its legal system but it does make me frown to see so many people unequivocally celebrate this sentence. I think it would have been much more fitting for Tablo to be awarded a five million dollar payment from the entire group and have their names dragged publicly through the mud.

        • Uh, because not all members are equally culpable? They need this thing called evidence to actually prosecute. That doesn’t mean everybody else is innocent in reality.

          —–

I could just as easily ask you, “What does putting a monetary amount on the damages do?”

Because they surely don’t have enough money to cover those damages, and that ruling will be purely superficial.

          So that accomplishes nothing.

          —–

You’re talking completely from the perspective of an American.

In America, you’re right, the specific charge of defamation wouldn’t have jail time affixed to it. But it’s not America.

Personally, I don’t care about the sentence because they committed criminal acts, ones worthy of getting jailed for, and got theirs. It’s quite common for lawyers to only go after charges they can win with, so regardless of whether or not they charged them with the death threats and/or harassment, I think we can all agree it happened, so I couldn’t care less about them getting the book thrown up their asses.

Death threats, by the way, are criminal in America. Towards both private citizens and government officials.

If the WBC sent death threats, they would have got shit on.

  12. i cannot comprehend in the slightest how someone would get so invested in celebrity scandals that they’d do this rumor mongering shit for years and with such maliciousness that a government would actually step in and charge them for a crime

like all they had to do to avoid a criminal conviction was stop fucking talking about it, but it was so goddamn important to them that they believed some dude forged some papers that they stuck to their guns for how many years? do they think they’re martyrs now? are they going to right a book titled “my story” and claim civil disobedience?

    • Dunno.

As far as I know, this is Tablo against Tajinyo, not the Republic Of Korea against Tajinyo.

      • You don’t get a jail sentence during a civil lawsuit. It’s a criminal court case, so yes it is the RoK versus Tajinyo.

    • “do they think they’re martyrs now?”

Given how vindictive they were about everything and that they took his supposed lie about his degree so personally, my first thought was that some of them probably do consider themselves martyrs now. If they’re sick enough mentally to do everything they did, they’re sick enough mentally to think this is all just another level to the “conspiracy”.

I can understand why they did it, if they’re textbook stalkers, and I do mean stalkers in the truest sense of the word (and not the overused watered down version), there’s some psychological factors going on. Which doesn’t excuse what they did, just gives you a window into why they did it.

I kind of blame the media, the fact that they payed so much attention to the whole thing just added fuel to the fire and reinforced their delusion.

      • err, not that I don’t blame them, I just think the media had a hand in fueling the flames for this clusterfuck.

  13. did the 56 year old instigator from Chicago get charged?

  14. I’m drunk 80% of the time, disclaimer, but Epik High’s music (corny moment) and Tablo’s book helped me through really rough times and honestly when I heard about this shit going down I got freaked out that Tablo was gonna quit and I totally cried like a derp baby.

But this still isn’t really justice to me tbqh lol this is a case where I feel like the people should be punished, community service, y’know whatever. I think jail time is extreme. This sentence is similar to the one that my niece’s father’s brother’s nasty ass got for molesting his own daughter.

While his sentence was of course too lenient, I still think this one is too extreme.

    • But you can be sure that your cunt of a relative will get his real punishment as soon as he is in jail. That’s where all the fun starts if you’re an asshole that’s into little children.

He’ll get some hot ass rape action. Oh yeaaaa.

    • That does depend on the case though.

It’s always what you can prove, not what actually happened. That’s why so many of those cases go like that.

Not saying it’s right, but that’s the reality.

  15. Tablo spent a whole year in a small room afraid for his and his families life. His cousin is the biggest most jealous douche ever, and he’s upset that Tablo wont write him back? The only reason he even tries to say hi is to atone for his guilty conscience.

  16. The suffering that they put Tablo and his family thru , these aholes will now hopefully feel some of the same pain in jail

  17. Good riddance all right. The thing about the hospital that Lucky85 said though… freaky.

  18. mybiasbeatsyourbias

Has anyone heard Epik High’s new album
THIS GROUP NEEDS TO FUCK OFF
I am down with Tablo giving some K-netizens the legal pitch slap for harassment and slander. But having Epik High sign under YG because of Tablo’s wife thought it was a good idea, what a pussy whipped dick. He deserve a solid kick in the nuts for not having the balls to put YG in their place.
