So Junsu (now calling himself Jun.K) allegedly revealed that a member of 2PM was dating by accident on tvN‘s “The Romantic & Idol“, which would normally seem like an interesting scandal, but: 1) you have to wonder how much of an accident it really was and 2) Jun.K? JunK? Junk? Really?
Jun.K accidently revealed that one of the 2PM members was currently in a relationship, surprising many fans. On yesterday’s pilot episode of tvN’s “Sunday N tvN – The Romantic & Idol,” Jun.K got himself in a sticky situation when the interview slyly talked him into revealing 2PM’s romance stories.
When asked if anyone within 2PM was currently seeing someone, Jun. K replied, “No, not right now. Actually, one member is [dating].” He quickly added, “Oh no, I got tricked into this.” Regarding himself, he shared that it’s been a long time since he dated someone. Jun.K stated, “Many people have seriously told me to start dating. It’s really been a long while.”
Netizens had a generally negative reaction to the news, which begged a bunch of questions from people.

So I got a few questions, presumably from 2PM fans, asking whether Korea hates them or something. I guess they were shocked by the reaction, and I’m not a 2PM fan or anything, but I wouldn’t read too much into it.
Most of the comments seem to mock him because of his shitty name, which I have to agree with (I mean, come on). The others just basically call them irrelevant. Perhaps because they think this dating thing is a media play, but the more likely reason is because they haven’t released anything for the Korean market since like June of 2011.
In the West this isn’t a big deal, but the Asian approach to pop music is just to constantly whore material, hence idols have comeback and goodbye stages in this never-ending cycle where it appears they never ever actually leave the spotlight. Thus, I’m guessing spending such a long time away has rendered them sort of an afterthought to Korean K-pop fans.

Man everyone in JYPE is irrelevant now. From Wonder Girls, 2pm, Miss A and 2am. It’s probably because of poor planning and the fact they always use JYP’s music when his songs are so generic and one dimensional.

I think they already are. As much as I dislike Hyuna’s new song, it’s doing a lot better than miss A’s fail attempt at being Destiny’s Child. And Beast is more popular that 2PM these days anyway.
2am hasn’t even used JYP’s song since 2010 since JYP kicked them out to Big Hit. Funny thing is, he personally composed one song for 2am when they were preparing their new album at the beginning of this year, hoping that his song would be used as a title track, but the boys rejected the song lol. He then gave that song to Seven (yes, the song that has ‘JYP for Seven’ whisper at the beginning)
I remember in an interview even JYP was surprised how well 2am was selling. I think their last album did pretty well for a ballad group comparatively to the in-your-face heavy bombardment marketing style other idol groups has to roll out in order to push albums.

Yes, they’ve gained a lot of recognition for the past two years since they’ve managed by Big Hit. They are already a steady seller now.
Not always use JYPs song baby. if you see in 2PM album, most of their song are composed by JYPE composer like Hong Jisang, Shin Bongwon, even Ra.D make a song for 2PM!!

I never cared for 2pm because they seemed to be more of a dance group. Muting their songs and watching their MVs really helped to appreciate their true talent…

I saw them live last year. It was good even though I didn’t really know many of their songs at the time – just went because I wanted to see a K-pop show. I don’t remember them taking their shirts off though, but maybe I fainted. It was exciting – Chansung did a swordfighting routine that was really awesome and I fell in love with him a bit.
I was in Eversing yesterday (for I have arrived in Korea now) and I saw a notebook with that Taemin Sherlock picture on in. It made me think of you but I couldn’t buy it because it’s just too dirty – I’d have to hide it.

3 years is too long, but at least the material is generally more substantial. When I’m getting impatient I’ll just search for more artists to look into so the wait isn’t too hard to get through.
