Netizen Buzz: They explore what Korean netizens think of allkpop and are right on point.
You should read it for perspective.
I’m far from an allkpop apologist, but there’s a reason why I generally see segments of Korean netizens as a bit insane, especially when it comes to their thoughts on foreigners, even if those foreigners are Korean by blood.

seoulbeats: They put down the serious tone for a second and admit that pop culture interest basically boils down to the enjoyment of low-brow smut…
…which is true.
People sometimes criticize Asian Junkie because it’s not always some high-brow analytical affair, and while we’ve written articles that certainly prove we could go in that direction if we wanted, I’d rather not, because K-pop, and the pop music industry in general, shouldn’t be that serious.
Yes, there are implications. Yes, there are things to dissect. No, that doesn’t mean you have to take it so fucking seriously all the time.
It doesn’t matter how popular this site gets, I will always say it’s irrelevant and unimportant because it’s about pop/entertainment. We aren’t figuring out nuclear fusion and we aren’t curing cancer, so unsophisticated and raw is fine with me most of the time, because I’m not interested in deluding myself or my audience into thinking mass appeal shit is supposed to change lives.
Relax and have fun once in a while is what I would say.

Soompi: Chad Future of Heart2Heart did an interview and he was apparently totally serious about being a K-pop artist the whole time.
So now I feel bad about writing this, but at the same time, his act just became a whole lot less awesome to me.
Eh.
Asian Junkie Asian pop. Without discretion.
<3 I put a heart on your page.
That would look adorable next to the smiley at the bottom of the page THAT IS FUCKING BLOCKED BY THE ARROW!
RIP, Mr. Smiley. We’ll remember you as the creepy little thing that has been watching us typing out our weirdest fantasies without judging us. I also caught you lurking on me while I enjoyed some one-on-one time with my electrical toothbrush which made the experience even better.
It’s only blocked if you have a computer with shitty fucking resolution.
True. At work it’s not blocked.
Fucking laptop…

Lol, how many members are in there?

I thought Chad Future was an awesome troll, now I think this dude is just insane
Yea! who cares about under-aged kpop artists working more than necessary, dancing provocatively, inserting IV injections into their arms, having batshit crazy fans, passing out and breaking their body parts(how?) just to give us the small fix that we demand. :D
I honestly don’t care. :>
The fact that it took incredible human suffering to create the “Balloons” MV just makes the whole thing even better.
You know what would be the number 1 OTP?
Chad Future + Hyuna
They should collaborate. And win a ton of awards. Awards that groups like BIGBANG and SNSD would’ve won if not for the beautiful and talented duo, Chyuna
That would be the best
You think Hyuna would tap that? And I ask that although I think she fucks just about any guy that has a penis bigger than her clitoris.
I would love to see them shit on everybody and win awards, though. Hilarious times would await us in the world of kpop. Maybe throw in Psy’s penis for publicity to make it work out.
Yo maybe not figuring out nuclear fusion nor how to cure cancer, but you keep kpop fan sane. If every delusional fan make a point to visit your site one a day, I’m pretty sure it will have less brainless teenage you take kpop way to seriously.
^^^^^^ Agreed. AJ always calms my tits when the delusional fan in me needs a reality check (which is quite frequently since tumblr turns me into delusional fan expert level)
Sounds like you need some spanking sometimes. I’ll gladly do it for you with a rusty bullwhip.
Thanks, but it’s not that important, lol.
:o
Well, one would hope.
I think you actually keep kpop fun. It gets a little tiring on other kpop sites with the tweeners acting like they’re fighting for world peace or something all the time. People need to lighten up.
And chad future… i am sad :(
Yeah, I don’t like K-Pop sites/fans that take K-Pop seriously all the time myself.
And ugh! So Chad was being for real?! :/
I never liked Chad, he scared me from the very beginning. I think it’s the hair… Anyways, I’m new here. I thought it would be about time I created an account. It’s good to be in a kpop site where everyone isn’t insulting eachother like three year olds :)
It’s like he stole that terrifying blonde haircut SM gave Jaejoong back in the day, right? Tell me I’m not the only one who sees it!
http://seoulbeats.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/20121118_seoulbeats_Jaejoong2.jpg
LOL! I knew I had seen it before!
I guess Chad Oppar really DID mean it.
Unfortunately… I am so disappointed I just might skip my masturbation session tonight.
Johnny was kinda chill and funny during his trolling days tbh.. but then AKP got really popular and ofc it becomes crap that it is today -.- Can’t blame him tho, it’s fucking $$$
Relax and have fun once in a while is what I would say. – these words of wisdom right here
Conscious decision to go mainstream and make it a business. Got no problem with that.
My only issue is when they pretend they weren’t basically Anti K-Pop-Fangirl back in the day.
I like seoulbeats and asian junkie obviously for different reasons. I don’t mind there more serious approach, although I wish there were more diversity in their articles, some things do not need to be discussed as much as they have been on there lately. Some of the articles on MV reviews and shows are meant to be taken lightly but commenters make it serious because they can’t stand their idols being criticized, I had to take a break from that site after all hell broke loose because of the negative criticism of BIGBANG’S Monsters MV, and the deep analysis everyone had to explain an obvious shitty MV, and that’s probably the only problem I have with the site.
This was totally informative and interesting
I doubt it. We’re smarter than most kpop fans, that’s why we’re here. Most of those bitches basically have mental problems, not even Lord IATFB can change them.
^ reply to saphirya.

The mix is what makes this site oh so special and interesting. We can spam some articles with penises while others can discuss serious topics on the rest of the articles (though the penis fetish on on here is strong everywhere, I can smell the ballsack obsession that all the bitches on AJ have from here).
:o
Ohmygosh am I the only one here who actually likes Chad Future even more after reading that article? It’s amazing! How many fans of K-pop do you know who actually put together a group, produced the music and video, made all these connections, forced himself into an industry where they will definitely be publicly scrutinized and belittled, is trying to start something new, basically went all-out for their dream and got results? Aren’t people all over the world talking about him? This is insane. I’m really impressed.
I also think he can be this serious about *making* his own music, but not take the actual music too seriously. We all think K-pop is cheesy and ridiculous, but love it anyway. Why get mad at him for having fun with the genre?
I don’t have a problem with him.
It’s just … disappointing after I thought he was basically trolling K-pop fans in an elaborately epic way.
I like Seoulbeats because when I want serious they got serious, and when I want fun I can go other places. In their defense, they’re not serious all day long, but OTOH I stay out of the comments. It’s death.
Not nearly enough actual issues in K-pop to continually pump out content though, so sometimes you can feel when an issue is basically being forced.
I don’t have a problem with them either, I’m just speaking in defense of what I do.
Can’t argue with that– the latest article up is about the rising importance of logos in K-pop.
I love your site, so I don’t see it as needing any defending, but then I probably don’t get the inbox full of crap that you do.
I think Chad is giving fan girls and boys hope that they CAN be Kpop idols *nods*
Chad Future was a stupid name anyway.
