Just prior to 2013, it was revealed that Girl Next Door‘s Chisa was engaged to Kitajima Kosuke, a four-time Olympic gold medal winner in swimming.
On December 31st it was reported that Olympic gold medalist swimmer Kitajima Kosuke (30) and girl next door vocalist Chisa (27) are engaged. The two are planning on registering their marriage within the year (2013), but plans for a ceremony are still undecided. Chisa is not pregnant at this time and will continue her activities as a member of girl next door.
According to sources, Kitajima and Chisa met through a mutual acquaintance about 2 years ago. Kitajima revealed, “We have been dating since 2 years ago, and its also through her support that I was able to apply myself to competition.” He sent Chisa an engagement ring in the summer of 2012, “Right now, we are thinking about things together including our future.”
Chisa also stated, “Although it was a short period, while spending each day together, we both began to think about the same future.” She continued, “We are still inexperienced, but we would like to walk together while thinking about our future. I ask that you would please warmly watch over us.”
I enjoy how marriage announcements in Japan between celebrities now just come with the default status of the woman’s pregnancy because shotgun marriages are so common.
Anyway, Chisa is awesome is Kosuke is arguably the greatest breaststroker of all-time … so yeah. I’m not gonna make a pun, I swear.
Hopefully this means the end of girl next door too.

So Day After Tomorrow was broken up due to someone’s marriage/relationship and crap… so the other dude of the group, some other guy and Chisa are Girl Next Door……and now she’s tying the knot, so is this group gonna break up too?

I was getting worried that if he’d post-pone a normal life cycle any longer, he would leave no biological legacy! Hansen, his American rival who is likely heading for retirement, will be a new dad at age 32. Hopefully this marriage to Chisa won’t sideline his Rio dreams completely, with plans for a family and all. His swimming is so beautiful to watch. Although, it might be time for Akihiro to swim in victorious glory for Japan.
