For a “non-idol” group it sure doesn’t sound any different. Visually it’s barely different either, Tiger JK even has abs like an idol (not knocking – I love Tiger JK). Technically they might not be idols but they’re only a shave away… literally and metaphorically…
Didn’t find this to be up to Tiger, Tasha n Bizzy’s usual standards either. But then I find Tasha and Tiger’s latest works to be lackluster in general compared to the ones they did in the past, so I don’t really get why everyone is gushing about this. Perhaps the good rap verses makes a difference, but the composition is really not very good.
How does having muscles make you look like an idol? 50 cent has the same body lol
Anyway, I’m a bit disappointed with this new song, when I saw Tasha and Tiger JK on the top of this site I was like “YAY it was about high time we hear something new from them”. But then this song reminds of “Get It In”, like a refined version of it…and I didn’t like “Get It In”. “Sweet Dream” sounds better, yes, and Tasha’s part is the best for me…I just don’t see myself having this song on repeat.
I wouldn’t say that this song is a good representation of talented non-idols. I’ve listened to songs that were much better than that from Tiger JK and Tasha, and other non-idols. I don’t blame them though, if you want to go mainstream, you gotta do mainstream music. I really don’t see them releasing a very hip hop song as a single A-side nowadays.
Also, check their other new song out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2L2HCSog9dU
Loving their rap ^^ The song is growing on me a little… The hip hop vibe compensates for “Sweet Dream”, so they’re not compeltely done with that sound yet, fortunately. I can’t wait to hear what their future albums will sound like.
Just sayin’:
I’m not into the song “BizzyTigerYoonmirae (MFBTY)” yet, I probably won’t have it in my mp4 player either. And I wasn’t saying that that particular sound was “really good” nor representative of their good old stuff. It’s still American mainstream hip hop.
I think it’s good..but the video is a little too busy.
I think the tiger-metaphor isn’t so clear or as strong if you a) don’t understand the lyrics b) didn’t bother to realize his stage time is Tiger JK. As always Yoon Mi-Rae is my favorite part.
If I heard the beginning of this song on a radio, I would have no doubts it’s new American pop/hiphop song. I can totally imagine mainstream American artists performing it instead. But it’s not a bad thing for me – I enjoyed this song a lot
Finally a song that isn’t trying too hard to fit into the western music taste! I like it, I like it a lot.
And Tiger looks like a hot, totally bangable Jesus.
I don’t know why some people are saying MFBTY sounds Americanized since the origins of hip hop come from that nation. Everything I heard from Korean hip hop has been down 30 something years ago in hip hop. I consider “Sweet Dreams”an upgrade and bringing the scene up to speed a bit. The song isn’t so bad even if its got a mainstream sound. Better than that YG hip pop shit, MFBTY sounds straight legit.
I totally thought that there was an ass photoshopped on the front of Tiger JK until I realized that it was a reflection….
Me too.
Too bad – that would have made a better album cover.
I didn’t see it before you mentioned it… Now it’s all I can see.
I stared at it for a good minute before realising
I thought that’s what it was. :o

I agree this song sounds a little idolish but they have many others that an idol wouldn’t dare to put out ( especially their raw hip hop)
sounds different to me, even visually.
It sounds more like western mainstream hiphop.

But well, I’m still happy that the Queen of Korean hip hop is still making music and being successful on some music charts, it seems:

JK been had abs. He kinda lost them when he got sick so if people think he got them cause idols do they have another thing coming.
He’s always had abs though
It sounds different in that they actually have talent.

It looks like they photoshopped Tiger’s buttocks to the bottom of his abs.
Really love this single though.

Maybe it’s because there’s so much english, but this sound something that I’d here on the radio.

It was a little choppy, but I loved it. Yoon Mi Rae can only do perfect things, perfectly.
This song is not bad it is radio- friendly. I prefer Yoonmirae in this song, but the others did well.
SM stans raging over this

Haha – even Tiny G is beating IGAB in China.

well….that didnt worked as I expected….
@Rotaryknight
what the fuck is that…its that a vagina or something?
That just made my WHOLE WEEK.
I actually was not into this song. I do respect all 3 of them though.
This is pretty mainstream, something I didn’t expect from a hip hop group.
I liked the chorus and the break at 2:12, that was great.
I really enjoyed this song !
