John Park was talking on the phone during MBC‘s “Infinity Challenge” on January 19th, and he said that Americans have a more accepting view of Noh Hong Chul‘s looks than Koreans.
On the January 19 episode of “Infinity Challenge,” the members were discussing No Hong Chul’s current and and future advancements in America. For reference they called up past American Idol contestant and current soloist John Park. Over the phone John Park informed that people look positively on No Hong Chul, surprising the members.
“It would be good to go into America as a character. He could be like the Korean version of Borat.” The singer suggested. “No Hong Chul may not be considered attractive in Korea, but I think Americans will receive him well. He has a good looking face.”
The comment surprised me because I was unaware that he was considered ugly. I dug into it a bit, and sure enough, I found this article declaring him the ugliest on the show, which is quite an award considering the company.

I know he does silly shit because he’s a comedian or whatever, but he cleans up fine if that was part of his image.

IC is my shit… but yeah, he was always getting his balls busted as being ugly. But since it’s SK, it had more to do with him having a “big” head and less about his looks. I guess because his head is big it’s an automatic ugly in SK, idk. Altho, they recently had an episode where they did a survey in a bunch of different countries, and NHC came in first most of the time, maybe second only a few times. They went to London, LA, NY, Japan, Africa, and a bunch of other places. I think the bottom three were Park Myung Soo, Hyung Don, and Jung Junha (but it’s been a while since I’ve seen it)

Don’t know about Korean standards, but looking at this lineup, I’m pretty sure he would get more women in America than any of the other Infinity Challenge members (not that that’s saying much):

I’m saying this as someone who generally doesn’t like guys with facial hair: he’s cute. With the goatee: actually sorta hot. He only gets… not so good looking when his hair isn’t done nicely like in the 2nd pic. With his hair colored or in otherwise bad styles, it takes away from what’s actually an alright looking face.

I find him handsome on the last picture on the article but other than that I wouldn’t consider him hot. He’s been dolled up for that photoshoot and they also made him look like a hot Yakuza, ready to fuck the crap out of you if you don’t pay your bills.
