Kim Tae Woo makes a basic marriage joke and international netizens can’t stand for it!

KimTaeWooMarriage

So Kim Tae Woo went on KBS 2TV‘s “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook” and talked about his married life because everybody always asks him about his married life.

Curious fans can’t seem to get enough anecdotes about his married life. Kim Tae Woo shared, “Marriage is 50/50 in terms of pros and cons. First off, my heart becomes more comfortable, and I get to start fresh and work harder. I don’t end up wasting money. But the bad thing is that I have to share the money I earn.”

Forgive me if I’m wrong here, since I skimmed through the video, but to me it appears that the ENTIRE interview is done in a typical light-hearted manner. So all he did was make a basic-ass joke about marriage that everybody has heard before.

Yet, it caused a bit of controversy anyway, the reaction to which you can see in the comments on the article.

1. [+275, -153] What’s wrong with the women in our country? They’re so hypocritical because if this was about any other topic, they’d call the people hating on the star pathetic but just because it concerns them, they’re baring their teeth at him when he meant it as a joke. Look at your own hypocrisy before you vote me down…

2. [+188, -189] I don’t know how appropriate that is to say after impregnating his wife… Maybe because I’m a married woman myself but I lost all interest in him after watching him say that.

3. [+169, -103] It does suck to share, it does… Imagine yourself working all day while your husbands sit at home.

4. [+165, -156] Then don’t make money. Or don’t get married. What does he want?

5. [+159, -56] People are taking something he said as a joke way too seriously…

So okay, K-netizens can argue about it or whatever, because they’re reading just the words of the journalist, but even they seem to have sniffed out what happened.

So given that Netizen Buzz ALREADY TRANSLATED the comments of K-netizens for I-netizens, where two of the top five mention that he’s fucking around, surely the international community will have a reasonable reaction to all this because they have a much more liberal sense of humor than those uptight asshole K-netizens they rally against, right?

I would be so embarrassed if my husband said something like this.

Well, maybe his wife isn’t an uptight bitch with no sense of humor who spends her time obsessively pouring over every comment her husband makes and takes one “oh, lol, my wife takes my money, woe is me” joke during an interview and reads into it that he hates all women and that’s she’s a lazy fat whore?

Maybe?

Jesus fucking Christ.

Here’s the thing, intelligent and successful women tend not to be insecure as fuck, so I’m betting his wife doesn’t give a shit. But hey, I-netizens should keep projecting. Their reaction to his tongue-in-cheek jab says more about them than it does about him or his wife.

ROFL

Yes, what a forward thinking person! That’s the most feminist thing you progressive international netizens have ever said! She’s such an accomplished woman … so if she wanted she could marry a REALLY REALLY REALLY rich man, not just a rich man!

So much more independent and progressive than K-netizen simpletons!

  1. Why are these people so damn sensitive? If you so much as sneezed around them, they’d probably call for you to be tarred and feathered..

  2. Hey, I was mocking the social expectation,perception/traditional view of gender roles; both males and females. I was being sarcastic. i thought it was obvious. :(

  3. Yeah, saw all those shitty comments. I decided this time not to involve myself that clusterfuck of a comment section. There’s no hope for them. But I think the NetizenBuzz admin likes to see all these idiots wet their panties…

  4. His joke isn’t even about gender stereotypes. If both were working, the woman could say exactly the same thing.

  5. “I would be so embarrassed if my various k-pop husbands said something like this.”

  6. Is like 2:00 am now in Korea, I bet Kim Taewoo and his wife are peacefully sleeping in each other arms after some love making while knetizens are on their laptops disqusing over their marriage…

  7. Damn right. I ain’t sharing my money with anyone! Unless my partner has more money ofc! Then I want to share everything!

  8. I used to be surprised at how intensely offended k-netizens could get about the smallest things (“Krystal looks bored… That rude bitch!”) but then I turned around and realize THAT WAS THE ENTIRE INTERNET.

    • They only get offended if the article is about celebrities they dislike. Or it’s something really fucked up (rape or fucking with evil oranges in a car that were sent from Satan himself to kill off all responsible Korean drivers).

Won Bin could go to a kindergarten with a film crew, beat up 2 handicapped children, jizz on 4 little girls and make another one lick the mess clean with its tongue and assholes would be jealous of the kids and open anti-cafes for them. Shortly after that, Won Bin would get a baby food CF deal.

  9. They’re probably doing their usual thing while these pressed individuals continues to nag about something that’s very stupid, harmless, misinterpreted, utterly pointless, and really not their damn business. If I didn’t marry the guy, fucked him, have absolutely no connections with him or his wife whatsoever, and especially I know little to none of his relationships (which happens to be most of these commentator’s cases) who am I to say about this dude’s marriage? Especially this whole thing is about some lame-attempt-for-a-joke ass comment he made that was only worth a little chuckle, then you continue the rest of your damned life. If what he said is misogynist, I don’t wanna know the fuck Shit-fat-dong and C.A.P.-on-a-bitch’s-ass’s case would be.
I’m sorry that I seem like I’m going off like a bitch, but petty shit like this really grinds my gears. I expecting more than this. Like the bitch’s only place is in the damn kitchen making me a sandwich or something.

    • I like when you’re bitchy. <3

My crotch starts tickling when you're like this, so please continue so I can furiously rub my genital against the arm rest of my couch.

  10. What? You mean not all women are delicate little fairies who get emotional at the smallest thing? BLASPHEMY.

    • Oh.

      Now I get it actually.

      :o

They weren’t mad at the perceived sexism, they were mad because of the thought that women are sensitive and need to be protected from everything.

  11. Lol, this dude has it easy. At least he gets to share the money. The running joke in my family is my dad earns the money but my mom controls it. And like one of the comments there are truths/resentments in jokes, although I wouldn’t go as far as to say they are there all the time. I can still clearly remember several arguments between my parents because my dad bought something without asking my mom first and he would get frustrated and proclaim “I am the one that earned the money.” Needless to say that never went to well with my mom and she would be angry for a few days while the next day my dad would be fine again and be water under the bridge.

    Asian mom problems~

    • Same in my family.

My dad does all the chores because he starts work at 4 AM and mom comes home late from work. Mom handles money.

      :o

Dear Lord, I fuckin hate when they go around throwing left and right words like “misogyny” so easily.
He makes a light-hearted money-related joke and it means he fuckin hates all women in this world? Over-sentitive and over-reacting bitch much?
There is a clear difference between that and saying women must be skinny but men can be fat or saying that you will worship your son and beat the shit out of your daughter’s ass
I bet that if Sunny said the same, they won’t be giving a flying fuck.

The worst part is that you can’t really argue with these people because then they will just say that you are also a freakin sexist/misogynist/women-beater/women-killer/everything else.

    • yea, hate it when people get so reactionary and throw around terms like racism/sexism etc as if that makes them look more intellectual/open-minded when its completely ignorant and actually makes a mockery out of legit issues regarding racism/ sexism

      • Every time they spout stupid shit like that, it desensitizes the terms. Nowadays, people who use those terms are likely over-exaggerating or not even using it in a proper context. It’s made out to be a joke now, unfortunately.

  13. I can’t stand e-activists. These are the type of people that bandy about sexism and racism like they were hot cakes. Most of these people have no idea what they’re talking about and they’re just jumping on a delusional bandwagon.

  14. ..:.:..:::::::.:..:.::::

  15. I dont know how they got misogyny from this lame joke.

When pseudo-feminists embarrass the rest of us.

    • There’s always at least one in every group that ruins the image. Luckily, the less ignorant know that one group is not determined by the actions of one member.

  16. Does his wife work for a living? If so then maybe it was a bit harsh if not then maybe she should get a job.

  17. just because you’re not offended and i’m not offended doesn’t mean that it wasn’t a joke in slightly poor taste. and even if someone is offended by something that you’re not doesn’t make their offense illegitimate nor does it make them overly sensitive. think about what you’re saying =______=

    • They have the right to be offended if they want. Same as I have the right to mock them for it and call them irrational dipshits.
