I can’t believe I’m saying this, but Jessi might have the best ‘Unpretty Rapstar‘ alumni release with “SSENUNNI“, a banger of a track despite the dumbness of it all.

Here’s the thing about Jessi … she’s not actually a good rapper. Of course, that hasn’t stopped many rappers from having successful careers, and Jessi seems to be going in that direction if she keeps releasing brainless hype tracks like this over and over.
I assume this is what a lot of Big Bang‘s hype tracks could sound like if G-Dragon was taken by the other members and left on a deserted island. It’s amazing what one can do when one removes the quasi-EDM attempts and just go for club hip-hop fun.
Despite predicatably comical lyrics like “you think your flow sick but my flow more sicker” that may or may not be the comeback of a kindergartner, the sheer attitude and volume of this is enough to get by. That’s not unlike her ‘Unpretty Rapstar’ appearance in itself, and I was pleasantly surprised she managed to put together a release that masked most of her deficiencies in rap and just took advantage of her attitude and persona (like HyunA, but in a completely different way).
Again, I don’t believe I’m saying this, but I … also wished the song went on longer?
