Members of 5tion file sexual harassment lawsuit against ex-CEO

5tion

5tion have filed a lawsuit against their former CEO, known as ‘Mrs. Hong’, for sexual harassment and dissemination of pornographic material. They have also filed a lawsuit over not being paid their wages (~$100,000) the last two years.

The lawsuit claims that ‘Mrs. Hong’ physically and psychologically abused them after inking the two-year deal with Yewon Entertainment back in 2013. The lawyers say ‘Mrs. Hong’ forced the group to work against their will, used her authority to touch them without their consent, told inappropriate sexual jokes, went to their dorm late at night to drink with them, and sent them pornographic videos, pictures, and messages.

5tion members claim that as a result of all this, they have experienced severe hair loss, gastritis, and insomnia, among other ailments. They also claim they could not fight back and just had to endure the pain because ‘Mrs. Hong’ threatened to sue them for breach of contrast, block their future activities, and would force them to sign contract extensions.

The facts of the case aren’t clear yet since all we have is the lawsuit right now, but it’s notable enough in itself that somebody is taking the risk of speaking up.

I’ll likely continue to follow-up on this case as long as it continues to make the news, and though I (sadly) wouldn’t be surprised if all this stuff actually happened, it’s obviously terrible nevertheless.
