Tiffany, apparently uncomfortable with her likability being at an all-time high, decided to post a Japanese flag up on Instagram on Korea’s National Liberation Day. That could be argued as just being a mistake related to her being in Japan, but then she followed that up by posting the Rising Sun Flag of Imperial Japan on Snapchat.
That’s … uh … less than optimal.
I mean I’m not one to flip out over any of this kind of stuff, but it’s hard to argue that this wasn’t almost the dumbest thing that a Korean celebrity could do on this day.
I know SNSD had a built in shield for stuff like this, both through the media, the fandom, and because SM Entertainment can handle crises more effectively than other companies, but this could get out of control in a hurry.
