YG reportedly under investigation for gambling over $1 million during Las Vegas trip to celebrate ‘MIXNINE’

Already facing suspicions of prostitution mediation, tax evasion, and witness tampering, YG is now reportedly under fire for gambling ~$1 million in Las Vegas.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency will initially hold an internal investigation on the accusations that Yang Hyun Suk illegally gambled overseas. They plan to summon him for questioning after securing more details and information on the accusations. In April 2019, police obtained intelligence that Yang Hyun Suk had illegally gambled overseas. In response to the tip, the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) launched an investigation into Yang Hyun Suk’s accounts. According to the FIU, records showed transactions totaling more than ₩1.3 billion KRW ($1,074,066 USD). Accounts were set up in both South Korea and the United States, and the money was deposited in Won, and withdrawn in Dollars.

His high-stakes baccarat excursion may lead to hefty fines or jail time.

Also the timing of this was … something.

Yang Hyun Suk is rumored to have gone on his Las Vegas trip in February 2018 to celebrate the conclusion of his audition survival program MIXNINE. PD Han Dong Chul and other staff members who worked on the show also made the trip.

The fact that they apparently did this after ‘MIXNINE‘ ended, and that we now know he was stiffing companies on promised payment (that they got sued over in one instance) and didn’t deliver anything for the winning group, that must feel like a kick in the teeth for contestants.

That said, compared to the other stuff, do I care about YG or anybody gambling? No, of course not. That said, of course money-related problems is likely the only thing that is gonna stick to any of the people involved in the crimes linked to YG, so I’m not exactly feeling sympathy for him either.
