Police reportedly find audio of ‘PDX101’ staff mentioning rigging seasons of the show

The investigation into the alleged rigging of ‘Produce X 101‘ has already produced some results, as according to a recent report an audio file on a staff’s phone has evidence that not only was ‘PDX101’ rigged but so were previous seasons.

On July 31, the cyber investigation team from the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency conducted a search and seizure of the CJ E&M headquarters in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul and mobile voting data center to collect evidence on the possibility of vote rigging. They held this raid just 5 days after opening an internal investigation. According to the exclusive report, after examining the evidence obtained, it was discovered that one of the production team member’s cell phones contained an audio recording that directly mentioned manipulation. In addition to mentioning the manipulation of Produce X 101, manipulation of other seasons was also mentioned. With this evidence, police conducted a second search and seizure on August 12, this time of CJ E&M headquarters and the staff member’s house.

Police may also add a further charge of business obstruction.

Police are also considering to add a charge of business obstruction to the production team, for them announcing the final rankings differently from what they should be, however they can not elaborate more on that matter at the moment.

Worth noting the rather important information that what exactly the audio file says it not yet known, and I’m guessing the surrounding context is critical to this.

Update

Police have now done another search and seizure.

On August 19, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency confirmed that a second search and seizure of the CJ ENM offices had taken place on August 12. They stated, “We felt the need for an additional search and seizure for materials that were not secured in the first search and seizure.” The police are said to be analyzing the phones of staff members, and has been collecting testimony from those involved in the production who were summoned for questioning.
