Maybe I’m just not paying enough attention to the acting side of Korean entertainment, but SNSD‘s Sooyoung being announced as a part of the John Wick universe through a character profile for the upcoming Ballerina seemed like it came out of nowhere.

Honestly, I didn’t even recognize her at first, as they photoshoped the life out of her or something. But whatever, Hollywood gonna Hollywood.
Ballerina is set between the end of John Wick 3 and the start of John Wick 4, and while Keanu Reeves will be in this, the main character will be Ana De Armas‘ character. Sooyoung will be playing Katla Park, who is a part of the movie’s first mission.
According to a report by IGN, Katla Park is “the daughter of the Ruska Roma’s colleague Il Seong,” and protagonist “Eve’s first field mission is to protect Katla Park as the lavish Minus Eleven club.”
I was probably gonna check it out anyway, so it’ll be cool to see her as the acting side of her career seemingly takes a big step forward.
