Making an exception to my new rule of not trying to cover music releases immediately anymore, ChRocktikal — band fronted by Dreamcatcher vocalist Siyeon — made their debut with “PEACE” moments ago, and managed to fill me with hopium to contrast with a miserable start to 2026.
While I am going to stick to my resolution to try and let music marinate for a bit before rushing to judgment, I will say I’m pleased by the heavier aspects following concerns she’d do something poppier. Mostly, “PEACE” showcases her vocals in a way that really makes me want to see them perform live — a good things since it’s the bread and butter of any band — and while I was getting worried guitarwork would be relegated to the background as a result, the closing made me feel better about that as well. Rock playlist at worst for me so far, pending how embedded the chorus gets.
As far as the music video goes … well, you see, the budget … I mean it’s good that Siyeon’s charisma can carry.
"PEACE" is great, but "Victor" would've been a better single, I think. Similarly establishing of their core sound and probably the best on the album. "All In On Me" is the most public friendly since it's basically just disco, lol.

Most importantly, it gives me optimism for the rest of the album and any future activities, assuaging any nagging doubts about their sound. Feels good, man.
Anyway, you can get all the info you need here.

Also, as if that wasn’t enough, Dreamcatcher recently had their ninth anniversary, and six of the seven members reunited on a Weverse live (Handong is in China but called in).
Teasing a possible OT7 song release for the 10th anniversary? Oh the hopium is full to start 2026.
Asian Junkie Asian pop. Without discretion.
