Earlier this month, the disturbing story of Nana and her mother fighting off an armed robber in a home invasion took a turn for the absurd when said robber sued her for attempted murder. Fortunately, and unsurprisingly, the police announced that no evidence was found against her, and the case wouldn’t proceed due to her actions being reaffirmed again as self-defense.
On the 16th, the Guri Police Station in Gyeonggi announced that Nana, who faced charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault, was found to have no evidence against her and the case would not proceed. The police determined that Nana’s response at the time of the incident constituted self-defense in order to protect her and her family’s lives.
But Nana isn’t letting him off the hook for trying to sue her, though. She recently filed a criminal complaint for false accusation against the assailant for accusing her of attempted murder.
“The suspect showed no remorse for his alleged crimes and instead filed retaliatory charges against Nana. He also repeatedly changed his statements and continues to make false claims,” Sublime said in a statement released on Friday.
“Based on this, we have judged the suspect’s actions to constitute deliberate and malicious secondary victimization and proceeded to file a complaint for false accusation,” the agency continued.
Awesome.
Realistically, this is likely to just be a further pain in the ass for her more than anything else, but I’m glad she’s keeping her foot on his neck.
Of course, the case itself is far from over, as he’s still facing charges for the actual crime and remains defiant in court. The one upside out of that is the assailant claims he was “unilaterally beaten by Nana“, which is something I hope is true but they can’t end up proving.
