A couple weeks ago a magazine editor accused CRUSH of plagiarizing his song “Oasis” from Eric Bellinger with “Awkward“.
Those accusations eventually reached Bellinger himself, at which point he responded with the tweet above, saying that he didn’t think anything was plagiarized.
This generally seems like a common theme, barring a few exceptions. Korean or international netizens hear songs that are similar, automatically jump to plagiarism, the people who actually make music downplay it, and nothing ever comes of the accusations.
