Given that this is the solo debut of EXO’s Kai, expectations were bound to be out of whack from what maybe they should’ve been musically. But as somebody who expected something more impressive from a dancing angle than musically, “Mmmh” knows it wants to be a sensual, smooth track and accomplishes exactly that.
Does it go anywhere special? No, but it never seemed to be intent to anyway. As a single, it’s definitely not an attention-getter, but just as a song it definitely fits a mood well. Basically, it comes off as Taemin-lite, and given what I think of most of Taemin’s music, that actually works perfectly fine.
