J-pop legend Utada Hikaru got on Instagram Live today and clarified that their (no mentioned pronouns yet, I think) best friend Kuma-chan is a boy and gay, then revealed that they are non-binary, wishing everybody a Happy Pride Month.

They also posted this to Instagram later, saying that they’re having trouble archiving the broadcast but it’ll be up in full later.
That’s important because after they hilariously casually dropped that in there, they went on to interview Neon Genesis Evangelion creator Hideaki Anno, as one does.
They also kinda previewed this a week ago on Instagram while talking about being uncomfortable with standard prefixes.
