Actor Kim Seon Ho issues apology to ex-girlfriend for ‘inconsiderate actions’, leaves ‘2D1N’ & removed from upcoming films

While I’ve been gone for a while (like I have been every October since this site started), it’s probably worthwhile to talk about the mess fast rising actor Kim Seon Ho currently finds himself in. Following his star turn in Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, an ex-girlfriend of his recently came forward, accusing him of basically being a piece of shit.

In her statement posted online (read in full here), she goes into detail about his personality, notably mentioning that he coerced her into an abortion.

A explained that an entertainment news outlet then found out about their relationship, and K broke up with her through a phone call. She wrote, “He had promised to marry me and even coerced me to have the abortion. I told him to remember what kind of relationship we had and asked how he could break up with me on the phone like this, crying, and he got all worked up and said to me that he may have paparazzis on him and meeting up for the last time could harm him in terms of money and fame.”

People are trying to downplay what he did, but it’s an ugly scene.

Despite fans flipping out at her and calling her all kinds of shit, the actor himself stepped forward to apologize and admit wrongdoing.

This is Kim Seon Ho. I sincerely apologize for the belated statement. I experienced a fear that felt for the first time after the article with the mention of my name was released a while ago, and that is why I am writing this now. I was seeing her with good emotions. In that process, I hurt her due to my carelessness and inconsiderate actions. I wanted to meet and apologize to her directly, but I am not able to properly convey the apology now and am waiting for that time to come. For now, I would like to genuinely apologize to her through this statement. I apologize for also disappointing all of those who trusted and supported me until the end. It was all thanks to those who supported me that I was able to become the actor Kim Seon Ho, but I had forgotten that. I apologize for causing trouble to my co-stars and all of the related staff who worked with me due to my flaws. I would like to sincerely apologize to everyone who was hurt. I am aware that this rambling statement will not fully reach your hearts, but I am still attempting to convey my sincere thoughts. I am very sorry.

Salt Entertainment, his agency, also released a statement.

Hello. This is Salt Entertainment. We apologize for for causing concern to many with actor Kim Seon Ho’s personal matters. We would like to apologize to all those who were disappointed and troubled by this issue. Once again, we apologize for worrying you with an unpleasant matter.

Subsequently, he left his role on ‘2 Days 1 Night’ and was removed from two upcoming films.

Really, what I’m mainly amazed by is the amount of fan dedication swarming to protect this guy they probably didn’t know a year or two ago. I mean he admits he was a scumbag, so it’s fine that there are consequences for this. And honestly, I can only imagine this has to do with the characters he plays or something, cause it’s not like he’s exactly Won Bin, you know, which makes this even more nuts to me.

Plus, as I said on social media, I actually feel like he’ll be fine in the long run. No way Park Shi Hoo can be in romantic comedies and this dude gets canned for this permanently.
