Oh My Girl’s Jiho reportedly parts ways with WM Entertainment, other members renew

Oh My Girl member Jiho has decided to not renew her contract with WM Entertainment and will look to continue her career elsewhere.

According to an exclusive report from Sports Kyunghyang, Jiho has decided not to stay with WM Entertainment following the expiration of her contract and will enter the free agent market in search of a new agency. Jiho and WM Entertainment reportedly support each others’ decision, and thus Jiho will leave the company. Jiho reportedly desires to broaden her spectrum as an artist and celebrity and many agencies have been courting her, hoping she joins them. It was also noted by Sports Kyunghyang that all other six members have decided to renew their contract.

The specifics of whether she’ll remain in the group aren’t known yet, though even when that does happen it rarely works out in the long term due to scheduling issues. WME has also yet to comment, much less confirm, but if they say some “we are still discussing favorably” type shit, she gone.

Update

Confirmed.

“The agency has renewed exclusive contracts with the six members of Oh My Girl, Hyojung, Mimi, YooA, Seunghee, Yoo Bin (formerly known as Binnie), and Arin. With deep trust and confidence in each other built over working together for seven years, we plan to not hold back on our full support so that the six members can promote actively in diverse fields. Furthermore, we will respect Jiho’s decision to head towards her new dream after the end of long in-depth conversations with the members of course as well the agency, and we inform you that her exclusive contract with us has ended. We express our gratitude to Jiho who has been with us for a long period of seven years, and we will sincerely support Jiho in her future activities. The six members will continue to promote together as Oh My Girl. Along with a new start, they will continue to impress further, so please continue to send them lots of encouragement and support.”

As alluded to in the translation, it seems she’s leaving Oh My Girl as well, as I can’t think of any other reason to clarify that the other six members of Oh My Girl will be Oh My Girl going forward.
