Former (G)I-DLE member Soojin to make solo debut this month with company BRD Communications

While there had been rumors before of former (G)I-DLE member Soojin returning to entertainment, it’s now confirmed that she will be coming back under BRD Communications with a solo debut after over two years of hiatus due to her bullying controversy.

On October 16, News1 reported that former (G)I-DLE member Soojin recently signed a contract with BRD Communications and is preparing for her solo debut this month.
In response to the report, BRD Communications shared the news of signing an exclusive contract with Soojin and confirmed plans for her solo debut by saying, “We plan to release her [solo debut] album within this year.”

Back in September of last year, Soojin basically concluded the bullying saga by withdrawing further legal action against accusers and releasing a statement apologizing and summarizing her situation, basically admitting to doing some bad stuff, but denying the more serious allegations and clarifying that she was also bullied.

Anyway, as I said back then, I think if this was handled better from the start, it’s likely she could’ve comeback sooner or even continued on in (G)I-DLE. Unfortunately it wasn’t, and while opinions on this will vary, I don’t have a problem with her returning since it doesn’t seem there’s much to back the most serious allegations against her (and quite frankly multiple male idols with similar issues didn’t even skip a beat). Probably still has an uphill climb with Korean netizens, but internationally she seems to have a rather … uh, fervent fanbase still, so they might be able to support her in the meantime.
