Not a ton released recently that I could get excited about, but it’s not often a debut can steal the show, and Beomham certainly managed that.

Ryu Sujeong (Lovelyz) (Feat. XYLO) – “SHXT”
Missed this the last time around. Wish the hooks/melodies weren’t so understated, but it has a decent groove to it.

Beomhan – “Me Myself & I”
Was gonna say it was very difficult to get through, but he has already admitted as much and has since released a version of it on mute.
Look, a lot of debuts are cringe, and I dunno how his music career is gonna evolve from here, but him handling things this way has certainly made him more likeable. I got a good chuckle out of it and I’ll remember him, which is more than I can say for many others.

Yugyeom (GOT7) – “LA SOL MI”
Light and simple bossa nova track with some bassier sections for a bit of a twist. If you like his voice, it could work for you, which is about as positive as this Rundown gets.
——
Super Junior L.S.S. – “C’mon”
Honestly thought this was bordering on being potentially fun until the chorus hit. Sometimes I get these type of drop choices, as they serve as a convenient dance break or a trendy hook attempt, but in an unserious fun song like this? Just why.
——
YOUNG POSSE (Feat. Verbal Jint, NSW Yoon, Token) – “YOUNG POSSE UP”
Yes, I was surprised at the featurings with hip-hop bonafides. No, I don’t know how they got them on the track. Anyway, I respect the ambition here, but one thing you don’t want from a big collab is the listener thinking the song had potential if it was just the featured artists without you.
——
ICHILLIN’ – “DEMIGOD”
The instrumental reminded me of “Lean Back“ in sections, which is a great place to start, but I just wish it had the same kind of hook. Still, maybe the best of the bunch here.
——
EPEX – “Graduation Day”
I assume the intent here was for this to become a graduation anthem, but as a song there’s not much to it. Anyway, whenever I do need that wistful, nostalgic mood set, I just watch and listen to “Sotsugyou Soshite Mirai E“.
——
P1Harmony – “Killin’ It”
The hip-hop part of the hip-hop focused track is pretty good (in the idol context, as always), but it’s centered around a grating chorus that I’ll probably do my best to forget.
