‘Death Note‘ is getting another live-action movie adaption, this time titled ‘Death Note 2016‘ and not involving the original characters at all.
“Two new geniuses who are said to surpass Light Yagami (Kira) and L in intelligence will fight for all existing death notes in a 2016 setting, where cyber terrorism has become a serious issue.”
Can’t be seen as much of a surprise given the success of the first two films, especially since both were critically accepted offerings as well. Sort of interested to see how they try to build on the source material, but also cringing because usually these types of efforts end in disaster.
