In a bizarre crossover event recently, Jay Park was in MMA news after UFC fighter Brian Ortega slapped him effectively for being a translator for Chan Sung Jung, a fellow fighter under AOMG.
Well, he recently apologized for this.
I had kinda thought this might’ve been all played up to create heat for an upcoming fight, but if so I dunno why he would bother with this, much less the other “apology”, so maybe the beef is legit.
In a previous apology (that is now deleted), Brian Ortega wrote, “On Saturday night, I slapped three people at the same time. I apologize for slapping the ‘translator,’ and I apologize for slapping the ‘K-pop star,’ but I don’t apologize for slapping the ‘Instigator.’”
It’s unclear if he’s saying that he instigated by incorrectly translating previously or if Jay Park instigated the slapping at the fight, though for now it doesn’t appear anybody is disputing the previous events as recapped.
Either way, what a weird way for K-pop to get into fight game news.
