FNC Entertainment announces Jimin will leave AOA

In the wake of apologizing for her actions towards former group member Mina, it was announced that Jimin would be leaving AOA. That reveal came from an FNC Entertainment statement, so they finally said … something.

This is FNC Entertainment. First, we would like to apologize for causing concern to many people through the events related to Jimin that have been unfolding recently. From this moment forth, Jimin has decided to leave AOA and halt all of her activities in the entertainment industry. Additionally, our agency accepts responsibility for this entire situation, and we will put our full focus on managing our artists [in the future]. Once again, we apologize for causing concern through these unfortunate matters.

FNCE accepts responsibility. Goodie. Sorta meaningless now, especially if it isn’t followed by some kind of action to make their company a better work environment.

Realistically, I think this is always what FNCE was going to attempt. AOA had just resurrected their careers on Queendom, and Jimin absolutely had to go after what transpired. So trying to compartmentalize this to just her would be the move regardless, but we honestly don’t know yet about the extent the other members did or didn’t do anything regarding Mina.

Granted, Mina did seem to include them in the “everyone” in her latest post, but she was also distressed about what was transpiring in terms of Jimin’s apology, so I’d at least like to see how it unfolds with her and the members going forward since they previously seemed cordial. Obviously though, at the moment, things seem bleak.

It was encouraging to see Mina was being looked after given the way her last post concluded, but it’s gonna be a journey, and hopefully things can at least stop getting worse for her.
