(G)I-DLE’s “TOMBOY” is slowly wearing down my defenses and corrupting me from within

Good news for fans of messy discourse, there’s another post about (G)I-DLE’s “TOMBOY” on the site. Bad news for respecter of my takes (so nobody), the allure of that fucking guitar riff is slowly but surely getting to me.

On one hand, the concept doesn’t really make sense, and lines like … well, Soyeon‘s entire second verse, exist. On the other hand, the almost punk screeching at times combined with the catchy guitar riff, the excellent pre-chorus, and the titular hook is wearing me down and my resistance is getting low.

I get the naysayers, but this is K-pop and if things had to make sense for me to enjoy it, I would’ve never gotten here to begin with.
