Cube Entertainment announces CLC’s disbandment with rather comical timing

In news basically everybody assumed was coming but was never officially confirmed, Cube Entertainment has announced that CLC has disbanded.

First, we would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all of you for always loving and supporting CLC over the last seven years. As CLC’s official activities have ended, we would like to inform you that the operation of CLC U CUBE will be terminated as of June 6, 2022. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to you for your love and support for CLC. We will genuinely cheer for each of the seven members as they make a new start on their own paths.

Elkie and Sorn departed last year, and a couple months ago Seungyeon and Yeeun said they would be leaving, which left them at two members due to Yujin being with Kep1er, so it was obvious what was going to happen eventually.

Whether the timing of this is on purpose or not it’s hilarious either way, as given the massive drama surrounding LE SSERAFIM right now, it’s like Cube did a news dump on a Friday right before Christmas … minutes after it was announced an Earth-destroying meteor is gonna hit.

Either way, for me CLC’s run from 2018-19 stands out in particular, with “Black Dress“, “No“, “Me“, and “Devil” making for an impressive stretch.
