In what was one of the silliest stories of 2022, after an eight-month investigation by authorities into a fucking Music Bank win by LE SSERAFIM over Lim Young Woong, the KBS show was declared not guilty of rigging the results.
According to the police on February 10th, the Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul conducted an investigation on KBS 2TV’s “Music Bank” production team, and confirmed the program as being “not guilty” for score manipulation.
The explanation was that broadcast scoring usually counts from 5 AM to 5 AM the following day, but if the broadcast is between 12 AM and 5 AM then it’ll be counted towards the previous day, which is what they say happened in Lim Young Woong’s case. An official stated that the case was caused by the viewers misunderstanding the broadcaster’s system.
Like I said in my initial coverage, nothing would be too petty for me to believe in terms of rigging, but the most noteworthy thing about this mess is the comedy that the police were involved and doing this shit for eight months.
