Hello, playlist darlings, how are we all?
Maybe it’s due to my recent important birthday — or possibly due to the seasonal change currently happening — but I’ve found myself thinking a lot lately about how much K-pop as a (collection of) genre(s) has changed in the time I’ve been a fan (about 14 years now, yikes). K-pop fandom has changed even more, and I’m not going to sit here and be all ‘in my day it was better because of x, y, and z’, because that’s unfair and not even particularly true. However, things are just hugely different, that’s for sure. Some of it I like, some of it I don’t.
