Yang Hyun Suk’s suspended sentence for witness tampering in relation to idol drug case confirmed by Supreme Court

Hey, remember that Yang Hyun Suk witness tampering case? Oh yeah, that thing was still going on all this whole time, as it was in appeal to the Supreme Court since he was found guilty on appeal back in November of 2023. Recently that decision was upheld by the Supreme Court, and he will thus receive a one-year suspended sentence (with six months in prison should he violate).

On the morning of July 18, the Supreme Court’s First Division upheld the original verdict, confirming a sentence of six months in prison suspended for one year for Yang Hyun Suk, who was indicted on charges of violating the Act on Aggravated Punishment for Specific Crimes (threatening).

YG Entertainment provided a statement from Yang Hyun Suk:

Although I am disappointed by the Supreme Court’s ruling, I humbly accept the decision.
While I was acquitted of the initial charge of “retaliatory threats” in both the first and second trials, the prosecution changed the indictment during the second trial to the unfamiliar charge of “coercion of an interview.” As a result, after a long legal battle lasting five years and eight months, I have now received the Supreme Court’s final verdict.
From now on, I will devote myself to my duties with even greater caution and a stronger sense of responsibility.

Yeah, nah. The only weird thing from the initial trial was Yang Hyun Suk getting off despite the judge commenting that he probably did that shit.

In case you’re confused, yes, this is in regards to threatening Han Seo Hee in relation to the drug case of former iKON member B.I. that happened all the way back in 2016. And quite frankly, it’s somewhat shocking they actually got something to stick given that nothing really came back on him or the company despite many articles linking them to the Park Geun Hye and Burning Sun scandals.
