YG reportedly threatened ‘A’ over testimony about B.I & explained how YGE artists avoid positive drug tests

In connection with the drug case involving B.I, it was reported that YG was involved in influencing testimony against his artist. Later it was reported that the ‘A’ whose testimony was influenced recently submitted evidence to the Anti-Corruption And Civil Rights Commission of YG covering up the drug case.

Now ‘A’ has spoken out and is confirming that YG threatened them to change their testimony.

On August 23, 2016, the day after she testified to the police about suspicions of B.I’s drug use, she was reportedly called to YG Entertainment’s office and met with Yang Hyun Suk. In the testimony that lawyer Bang Jung Hyun submitted on her behalf to the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, she stated that she was then threatened by Yang Hyun Suk. Bang Jung Hyun stated to KBS that Yang Hyun Suk had them both take out their phones and agree not to record the conversation. After that, he reportedly said, “It wouldn’t be difficult for me to put you at a disadvantage.” Bang Jung Hyun stated, “Before the informant met with Yang Hyun Suk, she told the police the whole truth when she was first brought in.” He continued, “In the first police questioning, she testified about everything including the fact that she had taken marijuana with him and given him LSD after he requested her to get it for him, the time and date, and the location. However, the police did not conduct an investigation.”

Those are the reported details on how YG tried to change the testimony of ‘A’ against B.I, but arguably just as relevant is the claim that YG explained how YG Entertainment artists avoid positive drug tests.

Yang Hyun Suk is reported to have continued by saying that YG artists don’t get caught by the police for drug use. Bang Jung Hyun stated that Yang Hyun Suk said that a method is used to remove the drug traces so that they are not detected in tests. He reportedly said, “We periodically do drug tests, and if drugs are detected, then they’re sent to Japan where the drug ingredients can be removed, so they don’t get detected.”

Seems plausible, as YG would’ve revealed that information to convince ‘A’ that their testimony would do no good since the drug tests could be passed anyway.

YG then reportedly went a step further and essentially offered a bribe if they would change their story.

According to Bang Jung Hyun, Yang Hyun Suk went on to say, “I hate our artists going to the police station for that kind of problem. I’ll give you sufficient compensation and appoint a lawyer for you, so go to the police station and change all of your testimony.” She stated that Yang Hyun Suk also then appointed a lawyer for her. Bang Jung Hyun said, “According to the informant, her lawyer at the time wasn’t her own lawyer and it felt as though they were speaking on behalf of Yang Hyun Suk from YG Entertainment’s position.” He added, “They wrote down every line of the testimony on a note pad and told her to say it like that. She said they continued to coach her while next to her.” In her third questioning on August 30, she changed her original testimony to say that B.I had never done drugs. While YG Entertainment has confirmed that Yang Hyun Suk met with her, they have denied all suspicions of coaxing her to change her testimony and appointing a substitute lawyer for her.

Based on what we know about this case thus far, all this definitely fits. Everybody was suspicious that something like this might’ve happened from the time it was revealed/admitted that YG met with ‘A’ and then ‘A’ subsequently changed their testimony, so this appears to simply fill in the blanks on the details.

Of course, if this is how it went down then it’s another significant black mark for YG (and YGE), who essentially intimidated and/or bribed a witness. Furthermore, a police connection is again being alleged and a way YG supposedly covers up the drug use of YGE artists has been revealed. This could potentially expand further from here as well.
