Songs You May Have Missed: August 2020

It’s me! I’m back. It’s been a busy two months and I have a few things to share with you all that you may have missed, so sit back and let’s go!

Rothy ft. Chanyeol – “Ocean View”

Rothy has such a sweet voice, and it goes so well with Chanyeol’s deep voice that I’m surprised a collaboration between these two didn’t happen sooner.

Sejeong – “Whale”

This song by (Gugudan member) Sejeong has a really nice early-autumn vibe, which means it still feels fresh now even though it was released in the middle of summer.

Odd Child – “Lead”

Always nice to see former group members doing well for themselves – I really like this track from former BOL4-member Jiyoon AKA Odd Child, and had a hard time picking between this and the other song she released in August, “Race”.

Peakboy – “Hopeless”

God, the falsetto sections of this song sound so sweeeeeeeeeeet.

Jenyer ft. KIMMUSEUM – “BAD”

Soft vocals, chill as fuck, lyrics looping in my head…this is a good song, and it’s been in my personal playlists since it came out honestly.

KIM JAEHWAN – “I’m Not Okay”

A ballad? In MY playlist?? It’s more likely than you think!

James Lee – “Liar”

It is no secret at all that I was a HUGE Royal Pirates fan back in the day – I try to keep up with all the former members as much as I can, and I always watch out for new stuff from James in particular. Heads up though: this song is…so sad…

Super Five – “All Eyes On Me”

A trot project group!! I’m mad at myself for only listening to this after everything had ended, and trot is obviously not everyone’s cup of tea, but nothing beats a good trot bop for fun factor OR drama factor.

Choi Suhwan – “Starry Night”

Alright, so I’m going to have to stop claiming that I don’t like ballads. This song is lovely, and the MV is even lovelier.

Han Seungwoo – “Sacrifice”

This track from Victon (and former X1) member Han Seungwoo really ticks every box for me on my ‘dramatic boy group/solo jam” list, and I make no apologies for that.

Kim Yohan ft. Zion.T – “No More”

It’s been a busy time for Kim Yohan – releasing this and then very quickly debuting as a member of WEi means the boy is booked and busy, and this song is cute and (apart from the bridge) effectively sparse.

And that’s it! As always, thanks for sticking with me, and I hope you all enjoy these tracks you may have missed. Happy listening!

About Ells

Full time journalist & former boy group trash. (Not) full of bees. I like Epik High more than you do.
